STOP SENDING THE DAMN THINGS TO BOTH THE FFML AND MY MAILBOX!!!!!!!!!!
::cough::
Excuse me. I keep getting everything twice, and it's starting to get
quite annoying. Especially since I more or less dropped out of this
discussion after talking PRIVATELY with the linguistics guy (sorry,
can't remember your name off hand). I would have been perfectly content
with this being something between me and him, but NO, he had to post it
to the FFML and drag another handful of people into it. So, one final
argument toward this topic, which will hopefully stop it....
No, I noticed, has brought up the point that the kanji you see written
all over the walls and bilboards of Japan is *not* their original
writing system. If you look at older texts and scripts, they have
something far different than Chinese. While supposedly dirived from the
Chinese, if you look at them side by side, there is very little
similarity at all. I'm not just talking about how it's stretched to all
hell, but how marks are actually moved around, totally killing the
original character. So there, it's different, entirely. Give it up.
Argument over as far as I'm concerned.
My humblest of apologies to Tybalt and any authors who may be reading
this all the way to the bottom for ever starting this darn thing.
