In case someone's working on a fic that refers to the Great Kanto Earthquake
of 1922, here's some info about it I heard on TV today:

It shook for 5 minutes.  147K people were killed.  2/3 of Tokyo and almost
all of Yokohama were flattened.  There were 3 days of firestorms.

Incomparison, the 1994 quake that damaged Kobe so badly shook for only 37
seconds.

And in Kobe, they had "earthquake proof" construction....
