Officially, the Japanese work week is 5 days, M-F.  However, many (most)
Japanese companies work on Saturdays as well, because there is more work
to be done, and because everyone else does it.  In Japan, to be different,
or outside the group, is among the worst things that can happen to you.
Fortunately, there is a medicine for this ill: the Japanese government has
set up a department to promote the five-day work week, because six is
unhealthy.  Unfortunately, they also work on Saturdays 8)
