Well, frankly, there really isn't any restriction on the characters that
you can use... that is the POINT of fan fiction. Most people around here
try and base anything cannonical on the manga - which would make Hinako
fine (she's in it) and Sasuke would be out on his ass (he's not) but there
are plenty of fics with Sasuke in them (one or two even make him a pretty
sympathetic character, which is a neat trick). And there are *countless*
fics with new characters that were made up of whole cloth (or at least one
of the author's old shirts...)
So - basically, anything goes. As long as the STORY is good, you'll have
readers no matter WHO you drag into the thing. ^_^
2) What is the spelling for the five yen trick Hinako-sensei does?

3) Most of the characters in Ranma 1/2 have name-puns. Saotome being a
reference to "girl," etc. How far does it go? Does everyone's names
work as a pun?
Yes. Just about. Even the nicknames. (Kunou's father, for example, calls
his son "Tatchi" (a diminutive of his name Tatewaki) but a "tatchi" is also
a type of practice sword.)
4) The fighting style that Ranma employs is supposed to be the
Anything-Goes Martial Arts style. Then again, he also says he studies
kenpo. I take it there are various forms incorporated in the AGMA style?
The anything goes style (Musabetsu Kakutou Ryuu, in the Japanese) is
supposed to be an amalgamation of all kinds of martial arts - the Saotome
Ryuu specializes in aerial and unarmed techniques.
If there's anyone who's willing to answer, thanks! If not, just ignore
