This is my point of view concerning the whole "Are the Sailor Senshi
Unfeeling about if the Yoma are living or not" thread.
(Don't worry Tybalt, there will be a few things that will make niffty
fic ideas.)
1) The Senshi don't think about the consiquences of their battles.
Maybe... but then what about other Anime series? Ex. How come no one
has ever taken into account that Ryoga has leveled a LOT of buildings
with his Baksaitenketsu technique? How come no one has ever written
It's pretty rare that someone claims that Ryoga, or even Ranma is
all that is good and should be put in charge of the government.
Hey! There's a fanfic idea! Ranma and Akane, monarchs of Crystal
Tokyo!
a fic where Ryoga is on his merry way and makes a family homeless or
even kills someone with the collapsing rubble? If they picked on
other series as much as the did on SM about things like this, I could
let it slide.
2) The Senshi attack first.
Wrong, wrong, WRONG! The Senshi attack a Yoma when its draining
energy from humans. So, even if the Yoma are living things, it comes
down to a matter of destroying one life form, instead of letting it
live and kill others by its very presence alone.
3)(Most important of all) IT'S ONLY A TV SHOW!!!
Sailor Moon was never meant to be a highly philisophical show about
the right and wrong of killing monsters. It was just something to
sit back, relax and enjoy... and I do.
Actually this point is most trivial of all. The best fanfic tends to be
the stuff that puts a little extra thought into the events and
characters of the show.
Before you label me a hypocrite, let me reitterate that the above is
just meant to show my point of view and not start a whole
philisophical argument.
What do you think a philosophical argument is except one person talking
about their point of view and another person presenting an opposing
point of view?
