Here's the seen an empty romantic beach
You and I are all alone
Playful times when we ran holding hands
It all goes still.

The look that's in you eye some how scares me
What is there for us to fear
In the skies, in the seas, in the waves
So far away

Ah, don't think I can withstand this feeling
Just the touch of your hand
Can't you see that I still need some time
Till I'm ready again

As you brush the sand away from my lips
Touch me so tenderly
We're so close I see myself in your eyes
Just where I want to be...............

(Please note, this takes place shortly after the events that took place
in the original video animation An Akane to Remember)

He saw the blow coming, he knew that no matter what he did, no matter
how good he was in martial arts, he would never dodge that blow. His
mind considered that for the split second he had. Shampoo, Ukyo, and
Ryoga were all much faster than her, no doubt about that. And yet, where
he could always move faster than them and dodge out of the way, this was
the one person he could not dodge. She always manage to hit him. He
thought of all of this in that split second he had. Then his time was
up, and so was he.

	"Ranma you jerk!"

And with that, Saotome Ranma of the Saotome School of Anything Goes
Martial Arts was flung once more into the garden pond of the Tendo Dojo
by the right upper cut of his intended, Tendo Akane of the Tendo School
of Anything Goes Martial Arts.

Ranma braced himself for the moment of disorientation that his change
brought about. He had never gotten use to it. It was still as much of a
shock to his system as the first time when his father had hit him into
Naynniichuan. He felt himself shrinking, hips rounding, breast
developing, and some organs disappearing while others took their place.

Ranma-chan climbed out of the pool and demanded, "Jeze Akane, why'ja go
and do that for? I just said that Ukyo makes really good okonomiyaki and
that you should maybe ask her help in making it."

The short haired girl eye's narrowed and she began to glow dangerously.
"Oh, so you're saying that I can't even make okonomiyaki?" Akane started
advancing on Ranma.

The okonomiyaki in question was sitting on the table in the dojo. A
mouse came up and took a piece of it. It fell to the floor, its legs
twitching.

Ranma backed up until she hit the stone wall that surrounded the whole
dojo. Once again she knew that there would be no way of avoiding the
blow. But Ranma was stubborn, and not likely to give up without a
fight.

"Akane" the pigtailed girl protested, "That's not what I meant. I meant
that Ukyo could give you a few tips on making yours taste even better."

Akane was not slowing down, or stopping in her approach. Ranma raised
her arms hopeing to block the blow and wondered where the tomboy would
boot her to this time.

	But the blow never came.

Slowly, Ranma lowered her arms a bit to find Akane staring at her with
a strange expression on her face. Dropping her arms at her side, Ranma
asked with concern.

	"Akane, are you ok?"

Akane did not reply. She only shook her head and walked back into the
house.

"What was that all about?" Ranma wondered out loud.

Unbeknownst to both Ranma and Akane, someone watched their exchanged
from the second floor of the Tendo household. That person turned when
she heard her door being open. A slight smile touched her lips as a
small black piglet with a yellow and black striped bandana around his
neck, came through the door.

"Oh, P-chan, how did you get in here?" She asked.

Ryoga had been looking forward to seeing Akane once more. An unexpected
voice snapped him out of his day dream. Looking around, Ryoga figured
out just who's room he had wandered into, no small feat for him.

Now how did I end up here?' The Eternal Lost Boy wondered.

He felt himself being picked up by his bandana until he was face to
snout with the person who spoke.

"Ryoga, we need to have a little talk about what happened in the forest
of Ryugenzawa."

	P-chan froze, she knew!

The girl smiled and nodded, as if reading his thoughts. "I know
everything that happens in my house. And I must say that I am a bit
disappointed in you. However, I need to know what happened to Ranma and
Akane in that forest, and only you can tell me. I will not tell Akane
about her P-chan' if you help. Now, will you help me?"

P-chan nodded his agreement, what else could he do? As he was carried
down to the kitchen he thought, I never would have thought that she
would use blackmail.

Ranma had quickly found some hot water and turned back into his male
form. Still troubled by the look that Akane had given him, he decided to
go into the dojo to work out.

Maybe a kata or two will take my mind off her', he thought. The
subject of his thoughts had been Akane as of late, but he would not
admit that to anyone, not even himself.

He was half way through a nice little warm up kata that his father had
taught him, when he sensed the door to the dojo being opened. Not
missing a beat, Ranma went through the last part of the kata and settled
into a horse stance in front of his visitor.

	"Hello Kasumi." he said.

Kasumi inclined her head a bit in greeting. In one arm she held the now
wet P-chan, and in the other, a recently emptied bucket of cold water.

"Ranma," she said with a hint of steel in her voice, "Ryoga told me
what happened in Ryugenzawa. We really need to talk."

Akane had been lying on her bed for a few hours now. She wasn't day
dreaming, nor was she sleeping. Actually, she was concentrating quite
hard. She was looking at the picture that Ranma had given her last
Christmas. Or to put it more accurately, at the picture of Ranma, in the
picture that Ranma had given her last Christmas. As it happened, her
thoughts were also on her fiance. Amazingly enough, she too never
admitted this to anyone, again, not even herself. There was a
knock on her door.
"Yes." She said, still looking at the pigtailed martial
artist.

"Akane, may I come in?" A voice said.
Akane got up and opened the door. "What is it Kasumi?" She
asked.

Part 2 of Platonic

Akane sat down on her bed after Kasumi had left her. She has never
talked to anyone like that before.' The youngest Tendo thought. Her
older sister had just given Akane the Kasumi equivalent of a tongue
lashing. She hadn't raised her voice, nor had she threatened her sister,
and yet, Akane felt as if she had just been royally chewed out. She ran
the conversation over again in her mind.

"What is it Kasumi?" She had asked as she let her into her room.

Kasumi had come in and sat down on her bed, a bad sign as far as Akane
was concerned. This meant that Kasumi was about to launch into one of
her mother daughter talks, taking the place of Akane's dead mother.
Instead Kasumi surprised her.

"Akane, what happened in the forest?" She asked.

"What do you mean what happened?" Akane asked with some annoyance. "I
went into the forest, got lost for a few days, and then Ranma found me
and took me back to the dojo. The stupid jerk complained all the way
home."

That was the story that Ranma and Akane had decided upon on the train
ride home from Ryugenzawa. Akane had not wanted to deal with her dad and
the rest of her family, and Ranma was just as happy to forget what had
happened, and how close he came to losing Akane to Shinoisake (I'm
pretty sure I misspelled that).

Kasumi's features harden just slightly. Ranma too had told her the same
tale, even after being told that Ryoga had spilled the beans.

"Akane, I want you to tell me the truth, not the story that you and
Ranma made up." Kasumi told her bluntly.

Now that she thinks about it, it was the bluntness that startled Akane.
Kasumi was never that blunt. When she wanted something she would tease
it out of someone. And she had never before confronted Akane like this.

"B but I am telling you the truth!" Akane tried again.

Kasumi looked sternly at her. Akane could not withstand that gaze for
to long.

"I found the boy who had saved me the first time I got lost in the
forest." She said with a sigh. "It turns out that because of me, he was
dying. When Ranma found me, I was taking care of him, trying to help his
grandfather find the spring of life to heal him. Ranma thought that I
had chosen Shinoisake over him, and he almost killed him."

Akane was looking at her floor now. She mumbled something else.

"Akane, I didn't quite hear that." Kasumi said.

Akane grew red and mumbled something again.

"I'm sorry Akane, I still can't hear you."

"I said as if I would chose Shinosake over that stupid jerk!" Akane
said loud enough that most of the dojo herd her.

Most, but not all of the dojo.

After Kasumi had her little chat with Ranma, he decided that he was
through for the day, and needed some space. When ever Ranma felt that
way, there was one spot that he could count on. The roof. By sear
coincidence, or so Ranma claims, the spot which he chose was the one
that was right over Akane's room. Again, it just happened that way.

It did not matter how close he was to her room, nor did it matter that
her window was open, Ranma was the only one who missed Akane's
confession. He was probably the only one in Nerima to miss it. Commuters
had stopped and wondered, What was that?' And three girls realized that
the battle had just gotten much harder.

Ranma too was reeling after Kasumi had told him that it was time he
grew up. He just couldn't get over it. She had never been this blunt,
she didn't have to be. Just asking was usually enough to get whatever it
was she wanted done, done. But she made him tell her what had happened
in that damn forest, and afterwards.

They had talked for a bit after that, not really touching on any
subject, when Kasumi has asked a question. It was a question that Ranma
had tried to avoid asking himself.

"Ranma, how do you feel about my sister?"

Ranma of course tried to denied any feeling what so ever about Akane.
Or to put it in his words, "I hate that uncute, unsexy, tomboy!"

Kasumi's look demanded the truth. Ranma was famous for not giving up.
He could win, he always won, even if it took him some time. But if
nothing else, he never gave up. Ranma gave up.

The dojo floor must have held the same thing that fascinated Akane, for
Ranma too was looking at it.

"I guess I like her a little." He mumbled.

"Ranma!" Kasumi's voice was like a whip. "I want the truth."

Ranma winced and told the floor something.

"What was that Ranma?" Kasumi asked.

"I said I loved that tomboy!"

People in Nerima stopped in wonder at the voice that came from out of
nowhere. Two boys now knew that they needed to pay Saotome a visit to
discus this.

Now where did the Tendo dojo go?' One of them wondered while crossing
a bridge over a golden gate.

At this time however, Akane was busy looking at a picture, and didn't
hear him.

Both of them sat for hours thinking about what Kasumi had made them
admit. It was the first time they had admitted it to anyone, including
themselves.

Later, Kasumi once more went upstairs. "Akane, dinner is about to be
ready, could you please get Ranma, I think he's on the roof." It sounded
like the same cheerful Kasumi.

Akane grumbled a bit, then went up onto the roof. Ranma was right over
her room. She looked at him, he looked at her. Both waited for the other
one to start.

Finally Akane spoke, "Ranma, Kasumi said that dinner is ready."

Ranma looked slightly disappointed, as if he had hoped that Akane would
say something else.

"Akane," He paused for a moment, "Thank you for telling me."

Akane looked like she had hoped that Ranma would say something. She had
turned to leave when Ranma touched her shoulder. They were unable to say
it, so they told each other in a look.

I love you' the look said, but I can't quite say it, not yet, but
please know that it is you that I love. It was passed in a single
glance. Ranma and Akane knew, and they saw a gimps, just a gimps, of
what the future held. But for now.....

	"Friends?" Ranma asked.

"Friends." Akane replied. And her eyes told Ranma that it was friends,
for now.

At the table, Genma and Soun were trying to stuff food as fast as they
could. Nabiki had brought out her record books to see who owed her
money, most of Nerima as it turned out. And Kasumi looked at the empty
spot where Ranma and Akane sat, and smiled.

It mite be friends for now,' she thought, but it was a friendship of
two people who had decided to keep their love..........

(Platonic)
Let's just keep it friends

Let's keep it friends for now
Come on promise me

(Platonic)
Let's just keep it friends
Let's keep it friends for now
Even though I love you.

That night a phone rang, and a woman answered it.

	"Hello?" She said.

	"Oh, Kasumi, how are you?"

"My sisters are just fine, how are Ranma and Akane?"

"Oh, so my plan worked? That is good news. You have been a bit light on
them."

"Perhaps you are right Bell-chan, but everyone else was forcing them. I
didn't want to as well." Kasumi said. "But thank you for the
information, I would have never known what happened if you didn't tell
me."

"What are sisters for?" Belldandy answered.
