In all seriousness, there are only so many things you can think of writing
about without introducing new characters from Moon Kingdom.
I disagree with that general statement. I have never written a story that
had new character from the Moon Kingodom appear in the time frame where
Sailor Moon was set. I did write a Sailor Moon fic for the Sailor Moon
Expanded project but that took place completely in the Moon Kingdom Era.
Oh come on. What about one of the most underutilised (in fanfics) Sailor
Moon cultures, the Nemesis (Black Moon) clan? What about drawing characters
>from other mythology/nationality legend backgrounds? What about making up
something that has nothing to do with the Moon Kingdom?
It can be done, I have a large selection of fics on my site that prove the
point nicely.
Sailor Moon fiction really needs to get a bit away from that recurring
theme, it's becoming stagnant. (Phew, managed to work the subject header
into the post).
I agree completely that the Moon Kingdom theme is getting saturated. Is
there a possibility of people writting good Moon Kingdom stuff? I think so
but you'd have to work really hard to stay away from the things that have
been done. Most Moon Kingdom stuff is pretty predictable now, either is's a
new senshi (shiver especially Sailor Sun) or thier some long lost relative.
Or they become senshi... the list goes on and on.
There are only a few fanfics that do a decent job at Moon Kingdom stuff, at
lest in my opion. These include Mr. Biles "SM Z", The Trenchcoat Mask
Series and "Betrayal of the Fifth Planet." Thier might be more but those
are the ones that spring to mind.
