There is a difference between a fanfic which is simply "an excuse" to have sexual situations present, and one in which the sexual content is there for a reason. They are both classified as lemons, and I do not object to that. I simply did not wish my story to be put in the wrong category within that classification, that being only an excuse to include sex rather than a reason.
When someone says anime, do you think it as pointless >>>gorefests or inane, blubbery shoujo series? No, >>>certainly not. You tend to think of the
best, you think of your favorites. Why should it be so >>>different with lemon?
The comparison is not even remotely similar.
I disagree. Both anime in general and lemons in particular can be generalized according to their worst aspects. On the ends of the anime spectrum, there are both poinlessly violent and pointlessly schoolgirlish (for lack of a better term) series. Either end taken to represent anime as such would instead misrepresent it. Lemons are similar, in that there may or may not be a reason for the sexual content of the story. The difference is that lemons are generally treated as if there is no reason for the sex, generalizing the worst aspects instead of the best ones. I meant to illustrate how much more often this happens with lemons as compared to anime, and how ridiculous it is.
There is such a thing as a serious, intelligent, and worthwhile lemon, and I'm here to prove it.
