Damn thing about homework is that it gives my brain plenty of fic ideas
when I need the memory space for more useful things.
Anyway, this came from a 'Buffy' episode. The 'Back to School Night'
one, to be exact.
As the clock struck midnight in Nerima, moast people were
traveling the paths of Morpheus's Realm. They dreamed of the Seven
Heavens, of the Ultimate Form, and of a kawaikune otoko-onna. Or they
dreamed of Peace, Love, and Happiness. Whatever they dreamed, they
missed a meeting. A meeting of three people. Three people that no one
thought should ever be at the same place at the same time.
The first person spoke. "It's time for Ranma-san to learn
another technique. There is going to be another kidnapping of
Akane-san, and these are going to be the strongest yet. I think these
are called the... Fu Dogs of War? That information can't be right.
I'll get the spies on it in the morning. Now, does anyone have any
ideas on how to get Ranma to learn this technique?" The man leaned
back, rubbing his temples in exhaustion. It was hard being the only
ones responsible for the further training of the martial artist known as
Ranma Saotome. Of course, he was the world's greatest martial artist,
and in years to come, he would prove to be a decisive factor in the
destiny of the world. But that wasn't for years, and for now, the three
just had to train him.
Of course, it would have been a lot easier to train him
outright, rather then all the cloak and dagger, but Ranma Saotome was
proud. Very proud. He wouldn't have accepted their training had they
come right out and offered it. But the Saotome line was long lived, and
one of Ranma's great-great-grandfathers had seen the usefulness in this
little subterfuge.
'Besides, Ranma Saotome is my rightful Daiyamo', thought
Tatewaki Kuno.
-----------
Okay. This stems from a comment made at the end of the afore mentioned
Buffy episode. The principal turns to a reporter(? Or was it a
parent?) and says "Of course we're sticking with the LSD story. Who
would believe that a pack of vampires attacked us?" That got me to
thinking, what if the Kunos were really just training Ranma, for
something greater? That got me to thinking what if the Saotomes were
really Japanese Royalty? That got me to thinking, what if the House of
Kuno had been the leading house of samurais for the House Saotome? That
got me... well, long story short, I ended up with this nice little bit.
If I continue this, I will do something I never thought I would do. I
will focus on Tatewaki Kuno. In this fic, he idolizes Ranma. Kuno
would do anything for a few simple words of praise from his Daiyamo.
But because of the role that Kuno has to play, there is no chance of
ever getting the slightest positive word from Ranma. How does that make
him feel? How is Ranma going to react to being thrust into the King
Arthur seat, with Kuno being his Lancelot. (No, I wouldn't write a love
scene between him and Akane. It was just a useful allusion.) Things
like that.
If, however, you find that you like this idea, please feel free to run
with it. I really don't have time at the moment for any serious
writing, so just let me know.
Ja!
