I was sitting here talking with a friend of mine (Wyrm, Jeremy says

if Nene had turned down Sylia/Celia's offer when she deciphered it. I
said that Nene would probably be toast. He wondered aloud if there
were
any other women that Sylia/Celia petitioned to join, and the applicant
turned her down, and Sylia/Celia killed her. I put forth, what if she
missed one, and that one woman came back.
Heh. the problem here is that Sylia never demonstrates that kind
of
resolve. On numerous occasions the Knight Sabers violate the code,
sometimes very flagrantly, and she does nothing about it. Indeed, she
even participates in such violations. Personally, I don't think Sylia
is hardened enough to do it, though she tries very hard to look like she
is.
As for the method of recruiting Nene that is shown in the "Asu E
Touchdown" video . . . it is, to say the least, highly problematic. I
am not inclined to believe that Sylia is that stupid. And yet, it is
hard to argue with, because there it is . . . either you accept it or
you don't, but since it's the only real background info on the Knight
Sabers we have . . . what do you do?
Actually the piece was really short. It showed Nene solving a
tricky cyberspace puzzle Sylia had created and Sylia recruiting her as a
result. I have no doubt that she had everything set up so that she could
monitor the prospectives and use the time they cracked into the system
(which was probably a seperate computer bought and programed specifically
for that one use) to research their background. There were probably
several possible applicants, and Nene was the first to do the job.
Naturally after that Sylia turned off the testing system and disposed of
it.
Of course, these are just my opinions, but I like to think that
they
are well-thought-out ones. Any other views on the subject?
