I don't know about everyone else out there but I'm sick of getting
responses to my fanfics which are essencially the exact document I sent
out except for the occasional correction on my grammar or spelling. THIS
DRIVES ME CRAZY!!!!! These are also those clever people who put i
instead of I and so on so that the beginnings of their entries look like
they were written by a two year old. Don't get me wrong. I like getting
opinions on my fics. But it's the OPINIONS I care about not the little
junk.

Somebody's sure full of opinions.

I on the other hand am not so proud that I don't apreciate *ANY* comments
and help that I get. Gramar and spelling correction messages are my
favorite type of message, because they show that:

1. The person took the time not only to read the story, but also to go over
it carefully. (This kind of C&C is the most difficult to give, because it
involves much more than just a casual reading.)

2. The person thought the story was worth the huge time investment.

3. I am an English tutor, so anyone catching mistakes I make deserves a
medal. Most people wouldn't even know that most of my errors are errors, so
when I do slip, I especially appreciate the corrections.

While I agree that getting *ONLY* messages like "You should put a comma
here." can be frustrating, I'm always trying to improve my stories. Those
who offer the type of C&C that you're so worked up about also usually say at
the end how much they enjoyed the story. Even if they don't, you should be
grateful that they're reading your stories at all let alone taking the
trouble to try to help you with it.

That is what the list is for, after all.
