Seraphims Judgment:
Part 4:
A Fistful of Evas

A Teknoman/Neon Genesis Evangelion crossover

After suiting up, Touji stepped into the seat within the entry plug. He
looked to Misato up in the control room and yelled, "Misato-san! Is
Shinji going to be ok?" He had been worried since the day before. To his
relief, she told him that he was still asleep back at her apartment. He
would be back soon enough, hopefully. Well, at least it was better than
nothing.

He felt the LCL flood the plug and soon his lungs soon afterwards. He
kept himself as calm as he could, hearing Ritsuko and Misato give him
the pre-launch instructions. Soon, the inner shell of the plug was
replaced with several different surroundings. Some looked like computer
schematics, others looked like pychadelic colors, other just couldnt
have been described.

Soon enough, he felt the EVAs mind merging with his own. He closed his
eyes and took a deep breath of LCL. As he breathed out, he slowly opened
his eyes to see the city around him. Though he didnt recall going
through the entry shafts. Then he remembered about the sim attached to
his EVA. He would be using the newest weapon to the EVAs arsenal in
this simulation.

The plates on top of the EVAs shoulders opened up to reveal a pair of
black rods. He reached to the far ends of both of them and pulled them
out. Putting the ends of the grabbed rods together, he switched the
position of his hands and activated the weapon. From the unhanded end, a
long and vibrating blade grew from plate to plate. Think like a pull-out
antenna. The blade had a gentle orange glow about it as he held it in
the position as he was told.

"Man, I feel like Im in one of those RPG things that Kensuke talked me
into getting in that one time. All I need now is a summoner or something
like that, some bad guy to kill and Im all set," he said to himself. He
never really liked role playing games, he just couldnt get into them.

Suddenly, a projection of the 3rd angel appeared across from him. Worse
yet, it was charging. It would have collided with him, had he not jumped
to the side in time. He was able to regain his footing again, but then
found no time to react as the eyes of the angel glowed for an instant.
Then a glowing wave of power flew at him. He was able to sidestep in
time, he figured that unless he made use of his new weapon, he was dead.

Another wave of energy was shot, but was jumped over by Touji. Using
this missed shot, he slashed the weapon downward and spilt the angel in
two. He was able to get a breath out before he heard something else.

Turning around, he saw a rather large diamond floating in the sky. Also
emitting a strange noise. It was the 4th angel! Just perfect! Its
energy beam shot straight at him and he jumped to the left and started
to run as fast as the EVA could. Just before it hit his chest, he had
brought up the blade in time and it had deflected the shot away.

The sword wouldnt be able to hold it much longer unless he did
something. Adjusting the sword, the beam refracted straight back at its
sender. It was pure luck that it hit the area where the beam came from.
The angel soon exploded and the next angel took its place. Touji
figured it was going to be a long day.

*************************************************

Elsewhere, Rei requested to check up upon Shinji, since there was
nothing much more she could do. Misato consented and made sure that
Asuka wasnt around. In her current demeanor, she was the last thing
anyone needed.

Opening the door to the apartment, Rei stepped in silently, knowing
that Shinji was still asleep. Pen pen gave her a casual glance as she
stepped through the entryway to the main room. All the light came from
the windows, giving the home a rather, abandoned look. Stepping into the
hallway, she observed the door which was labeled "Shin-chans room".

Logic would figure that he was in there.

She opened the door silently and saw the sleeping form of Shinji Ikari,
still in his plug suit, curled up on his bed. She knelt down by his bed
and took a more conscious look upon the younger Ikari.

Moving a litle closer, she reached over and touched his hair. She had
often wondered why he felt so concerned for her sometimes. In fact, she
was wondering why she was doing this. At that time, she had found her
hand had traveled to his cheek. She didnt move a muscle, for fear of
awakening him. Yet, something else crowded her mind at that time.

The touch of his skin. Her hand felt the warmth of his cheek as she
stared at her hand for what it was doing. Also, from what little she did
know, his skin seemed so soft, so gentle seeming. She couldnt
understand what was going on. At that point, she wondered what it would
feel like if Shinji touched her in the same way. Her eyes widened a bit
at that notion. Knowing Asuka, she would probably over stimulate her own
heart.

She knew Shinji was a gentle soul, but she also knew of his problems
with Commander Ikari. Also, living with Asuka and Misato had not helped
him that much. He seemed so alone, until he had moved here.

She remembered after the encounter with the 4th angel. He tore open the
entry plug, the same way Gendou did. He was glad to see her all right.
He had cried when he found she was not hurt. He was worried for her.
Even if he hadnt asked her to smile, she still would have. She now knew
what that feeling was.

The want to be wanted. The need to be needed. The love to be loved.* She
remembered hearing those three sentences in a song. In this situation,
it held so true. Before, emotion was a thing which did not come easy to
someone like her. Or him for that matter. Both she and Shinji. They both
wanted to be wanted, needed to be needed, and would love to be loved.

At that time, she had found herself kneeling right beside the bed and
was leaning on it, her face only a half a meter from his. She blinked a
couple of times and felt her heart racing. She had never been this close
to anyone before in her life. Not even Commander Ikari. Yet, some inner
force was pushing her further to doing something she thought she would
never do.

For one of the few times in her life, she was scared. What would she do?
Why is she feelings this way? Why was this happening? Did she like him
for what he was? Where did that last thought come from? So many
questions without answers.

At that time, her lips were only centimeters from his. That was when she
heard the door open. She had quickly moved to stand up and sat down on
the chair. Not at all knowing that her face had reddened a bit. She took
a few deep breaths, which had calmed her down a bit, and had hidden her
previous faces from Misato who had walked to the edge of the opened
door.

"Rei. You never reported back. Was there anything wrong with
Shinji-kun?" she asked, her face a little tired. Rei shook her head and
gathered up her bag.

Rei had managed to avoid a fuming Asuka on her way out and had
discovered that it was almost 9:30 in the evening. She couldnt believe
that a whole 10 hours had passed. Well, there would be more time to
figure out what exactly was going on with her at home.

*************************************************

In the storage area of the EVAs, unit 00 couldnt help but smile to
itself. If it had a face it would.

	"Oh Rei. So innocent..."

Sanshi/03 had heard its self thought.

	"Did anything wrong happen?"

"No. In fact, I think something right happened. Rei was watching over
Shinji and nearly kissed him. It was so adorable to see her like that."

At that time, Yui/01 had heard what was said. "Are you saying that...
they... almost kissed?"

"Hai. I could even tell Rei was blushing. Much more than the time Touji
and Shinji came to her apartment. I think shes starting to grow up, and
its all thanks to your son, Yui."

"Uh... Thank you. I think. But what do you think Shinji would react if
he found out."

Interceding, Sanshi joked, "Probably nosebleed." He hadnt had such a
good laugh in a long time. Sadly, both Yui and Koorichi did not share
his same sense of humor. Things that day were going a bit smoother,
unless you take into account Asukas bad mood, and since she had it,
Ninohi got it as well. The EVA in question was being loaded up to the
safety locks for the night and was thankfully asleep.

*************************************************

Shinji awoke the next day, still feeling tired despite all the rest he
had received. He checked the watch on his plug suit to find that he had
been asleep for almost 2 days! He needed to find out what he missed in
all that time, he needed to get updated... he needed to take a shower.
His stomach growled, making his hunger all the more apparent.

After a quick shower, a quick made dinner, and a phone call to Misato,
he felt ready to go back to NERV HQ. Just then, a rumble in the distance
nearly threw him off balance. He ran outside to see something he wished
wasnt there.

There, in the sky, was a glowing cross. Not one, but several of them.
Another angel was coming. Grabbing his plug suit, he ran back outside
and down the steps to the nearest entryway to NERV. Just then, he ran
into a another person who seemed to be the only one there other than
him.

"Oh, gomen nasai. I..." Shinji looked to see a hand extended down to
him. He looked up to see the hand belonged to an albino. Rather similar
to Rei. Although he was a little taller than Shinji, his rather lean
body made the difference in size between them both.

"No, I should be saying that. I should have moved. Here." The boy
grabbed his hand and pulled him up as gently as he could. The boys red
eyes and silver hair caught his attention most of all. "Im really
sorry."

"No, its ok, I gotta go. Thank you."

"Doitashimashite." The boy said, waving slightly. The smile on his face
never wavering. Then, he turned to the distance and saw the crosses and
then the reason for their existence. He put his hands in his pockets and
leaned against the wall.

If anyone could see, the colors of his eyes switched. The red becoming
white and the white becoming red. In a voice that sounded like an
inhuman whisper. <You always were a fool Zeruel. You wont beat them, no
matter what you and the others may do or think. You will fail. I, on the
other hand, will not.>

With that, he turned and walked the other way. Not even caring that
Tokyo-3 was on red alert.

*************************************************

Missles fired, rockets launched, shells flew, but nothing could stop
the advancing angel from its intended target. Tokyo-3 and eventually,
Adam. Once more, its face glowed momentarily, and several crosses grew
from several areas around the city.

"Commander! The angle just pierced level 16 of the armor plates with
one blast. At this rate, they wont last that long!" Shigeru cried to
the commander who simply stared at the form of the most powerful angel
theyve ever faced so far.

"Alright. Prepare the EVAs for an assault in the Geofront. Evacuate ALL
non-combatants at once! Go to red alert level 1!" Misato cried to the
other comm officers on the platforms below her. They all repeated the
intructions to the best of their ability.

Two platforms opened up near the pyramid and from both of them, came
the fifty foot demonic defenders. Eva Units 02 and 03, the former armed
with a large gun rack behind it and the latter armed with the newer Prog
Sword. One would have thought that both were ready for battle,
however...

"I dont understand how Misato-san would give YOU, of all people, that.
It should have went to me! Im the best here and..."

"Oh SHUT UP Asuka! IF you spent half as much time training in this
thing rather than blowing off your stinking trap, you probably WOULD
have been the one. But NO! You just have to let everyone know just how
good you are and..."

"Whatever, you pervert! Just stay out of my way as I take this thing
out!"

"Yeah, whatever. And stop calling me a pervert! Its not my fault
youre the raunch you are."

	"AW, SHUT UP!"

A third voice beloning to Misato, interrupted their, ahem, little
conversation.

"BOTH OF YOU! STOP IT! You two can kill each other AFTER you kill the
angel. Now move out!"

As if on cue, the ceiling on the Geofront exploded and the angel began
to hover down through the hole it made. The very second it came into
view, it was marauded with a cascade of uranium bullets, rockets, and
everything the defensive could throw. However, the combined power of all
of mankinds weapon technology couldnt hope to pierce the angels AT
field.

Touji had used the fire from both Asuka and the defensive forces and
had taken a long way around the angel. Hoping that he wasnt noticed, he
pulled out his weapon and readied when the moment would come.

"I dont believe this! Its AT field should be gone by now!" Asuka
screamed as she ran out of ammo for the single rifle she carried.
Tossing it aside, she grabbed a pair of larger rifles and let the ammo
fly. Seeing that everything she threw at it didnt scratch it, she
grabbed a pair of rocket launchers and continued to fire.

Meanwhile, behind the angel, Touji had found the oppertunity he wanted.

The grey arms of the angel seemed to fall down like a pair of
curtains and hang at its side. That is, until they both charged
forward, aiming at Asukas Eva arms. Asuka never had any chance to react
as the enemy attacked. The attack would have taken both of her arms off,
execpt for the fact that Touji had slashed at its back.

The angel only had a second to move as its left arm was chopped off.
It screamed in agony as Touji continued to swipe at the angel. The blade
immediately met with the AT Field and the EVAs pilot struggled to get
his weapon through.

At that time, Shinji came out of the hatch to see Asuka pull out her
prog knif and charge at the unprotected backside of the angel. Shinji
knew that the AT Field only protected one side of the angel and EVA, but
he couldnt get rid of a feeling. That something wasnt right.

His suspicions were comfirmed when he saw several arms speed out of
the back and lance Asukas EVA in several different places. He charged
to help assist both Touji and Asuka.

Despite all the prodding the EVA put in getting the prog sword through,
it did no good. Touji saw the angels right eye glow momentarily and a
shot came out that cut both forarms off. He screamed as the EVA
collasped to his knees. Then he saw the angels other arm reach up and
cut him down accross the chest area.

Before he even hit the ground, its eyes glowed again and the
explosiontore off several plates. Revealing the same organic red sphere
that was in all EVAs. The core. The heart of all the Evangelions. And
with that single arm, began to beat on it, trying to crack what was
within.

Shinji screamed and charged not even caring that the angel noticed him.
That was a mistake worth learning from, if he would live to tell about
it that is. Like Asuka, several more arms pierced the EVA and started
to tear off the armor, where the core in all three EVAs were.

*************************************************

	Back in the Central Dogma.

"Touji? TOUJI? Answer me! Touji? Asuka, you there? Come in! Shinji!
SHINJI!" Makoto screamed into the comm, hoping that anyone would
respond. The current news didnt make anyone hopeful.

Misato turned to Maya. "What are their conditions?"

"All three pilots are still alive. But their pulses are quickening to
above safe levels and synchronization is decreasing. If they dont get
out of there soon, theyll die."

Misato turned to Shigeru. "Is Rei ready?"

"Yes, but their still having problems trying to get her EVA started up.
And the left arm hasnt been completely regenerated yet."

"Very well then. Continue to try and get that EVA working at 100%."

A voice came from the speaker. "Commander. I want to pilot it. Without
the arm." Rei said from within the ice blue colored EVA.

"Rei, you cant be..." she was interrupted as Rei said.

"O negai?"(Please?) Rei begged. She sounded... what could have been
called, desperate. Like she wanted to get into there as quickly as she
could. But why, everyone wondered.

"Very well. Get out there and stop that angel."

"Yokai."(Roger) The connection between the Dogma and Reis EVA was cut
and she stared out forward. A more than determined look upon her face.
Thinking of what was above, she thought of only one thing.

<Shinji. Ganbatte.(Hang in there.) Im coming.> Some hidden drive in
her head had been causing her to think a little more about him. What it
was, she couldnt tell, but what she did know that she had to be there.
She didnt want to lose him. She wanted to be near Shinji. To protect
him. To save him.

*************************************************

Back at the battle. With all the screaming going on withing the EVAs,
the people below were not the only ones to notice this.

<Yui, Ninohi. Are you both all right?> Sanshi asked, even though the
only thing he could feel was pain.

<Of COURSE NOT YOU IDIOT! IM A KABOB AND YOURE ASKING ME IF IM ALL
RIGHT?> Ninohi screamed.

Yui struggled as she felt the core starting to crack. <It hurts... I
cant take it anymore! If we dont do anything, our pilots and us will
die. Im taking over.>

<Yui! Wait! Do you know what youre doing? If you do, then SEELE will
find out sooner or later and then who knows what will happen! Everyones
going to perish!>

<I dont care! I am not going to let that thing harm my son!> Yui said
as her mind soon grew to a much more powerful size than before. Within
seconds, Shinji felt the mind of someone else enter into the EVA.

Ninohi, not being able to think of anything else to do, followed suit.

Just before Sanshi was about to do the same, he felt another of his
kind come. It was Kooriichi.

	<Sanshi. Whats going on?>

<Stay back! Yui and Ninohi have take control of the EVAs and who knows
what will happen. I was about to as well, but thought the better of it
at the last second.>

	<What? Do they know about...>

<Sadly, yes. Yui doesnt want to let it hurt Shinji.>

<Is there anything we can do?>

Sanshi took a short while to think before answering.

	<Pray.>

End of Chapter 4

[Warhammer returns.]

Now the idea for the sim using the prog sword was taken from the second
episode I believe. Only were adapting it for Touji in this case.

[SPOILER HERE!]
Now even though Rei is a clone made of both angel material and Yui
Ikaris genes. I think shes different enough to be her own person.
Which also says why I think that she and Shinji would make so cute a
couple. The emotionally sterile liking the emotionally scrambled. How
touching.

*The song I was referring to was Peter Gabriels "Loved to be Loved."
Its a nice song about self-esteem. The reason why I used it? Come on,
its human instinct to want to be wanted, need to be needed, and so on.
Also, I still like the Shinji/Rei coupling.

Oh and only people whove seen episode 24 of EVA knows who Shinji bumped
into. Ill let you know next chapter.

I may be blowing the Touji/Asuka fight a bit out of porportion, but its
kinda funny to think that theyre took busy fighting each other to think
about the angel. Or not. To each their own.

Now, I think that all EVAs have essentially the same design, so they
would all have a simliar core. Where, ironically enough, the hidden
conciounesses of all the NERV EVAs are.

>From the last scene with Rei in it, you can tell whom I like in EVA. If
you havent already guessed, its Shinji and Rei. Rei to the rescue, or
so she thinks.

I think the final part of this chapter kinda helps explain what I think
happens when the EVAs go berserk. Anno-san might have something else to
say about it, but hey, this is MY fanfic, although based more on his
story.

Now, before you go all in a tiff about "Wheres the Teknoman part of
this story?" the next chapter is going to be mostly on the background of
the teknoman segment of this fic.

For background stories about the teknoman portion of previous chapters.
Go to the "Save Teknoman Archive" and read Hammers Wrath. It will clear
up some things for those who are confused.

Send all C&C, MSTfics(recommended), and what not to
Teknoplus@hotmail.com

Could Yui and Ninohi have made a mistake in taking over? Can Nodoka
explain wheres shes been? Will more questions without answers be
answered? All in the next chapter.
