I'd like to say a couple things about this fiction.
Normally, I don't like fics based on games, especially RPGs. They always
seem to be a retelling of the story that I just went and spen XX hours
playing out.
Notable exception:
Jorge Pratt's work. His fics are huge, silly (man, by the end of his fics
his main characters can wipe out Sayajins without breaking a sweat), and
most off all, fun. He doesn't ruin anything and often makes me want to go
back and replay the game.
This fic was another exception. When Aeris died, I was pissed off beyond
belief as a player. Yet, I noticed they never really went into how her
death affected the others. This fic explored that in a way that not only
worked with the main storyline, but actually made me appreciate it more.
Good job, Vermillion. I truly enjoyed this fic, and in my opinion you did
an excellent job of portraying each of the characters and their way of
handling grief. Fine work on the emotional content as well.
Probably the best thing I can say about this fic is that it's a keeper on
my hard drive.
