My question here today is: Why are they called Lemons? Why would
someone
refer to a twisted sexual fanfic as a lemon? Outside of the fruit the 
term 'Lemon' is only used to describe something defective (I'm sure the 
spelling people are going to tell me I'm defective now or something.) So
why do we call them lemons?

In case no one responded via private email (I didn't see any replies on the
FFML yet):
To the best of my knowledge, the term "lemon" is a reference to a
Japanese anime called "Cream Lemon", which, for the uninitiated, is a
series of anime soft-porn stories.  Ergo, because Cream Lemon depicted
characters engaging in activities normally conducted in private, fanfic
authors began using the term "lemon" as a warning to those who might
not wish to read stories about such activities.
