"Oh My Lightning God!"

<Oh My Goddess/Mortal Kombat fusion>
<spoilers: MK2 <but only Rayden's new look>
-------------------------------------

Prologue:

Carefully the god drifted down onto the pool until he stood
upon the water, hands clasped in prayer for a moment, the
joyful sound of thunder surrounding him, happy to be in the
company of it's master while he prayed. He amassed some of
that lightning into a small sphere which grew until it
was larger than he, bathing him in a brilliant but soft
white glow.

Scene 1:

Tayani Morisato picked up the phone. Another call for one of
her older dorm-mates. She politely informed the caller that
he would have to speak to them when they got back and took
the message. Then, she politely hung up and sighed. "I'm
going to be here all day taking messages for the other
girls."

Her stomach rumbled and she blushed for a moment before
remembering that she was the only person there. "Okay," she
told it, "I hear you, if I don't eat now you're going to
give me trouble." she checked the bag of potato chips they
had left her. Nothing. "I don't mind being gal-Friday for my
dorm-mates, but they could at least feed me." she complained
to herself. "Well, I guess I'll order take out." She picked
up the top menu. "Hmmm... I guess I'll get the dumplings and
noodles." She phoned the number on the menu and asked to
place an order for delivery. "We never deliver before five."
the man's voice on the other end said, abruptly, asking her
to call back later. "Thanks for nothing." she told the
dial-tone after the call had been terminated.
"Well, I guess I'm stuck with ramen." she sighed, calling
the next menu.
An answering machine cheerfully told her that the store's
business hours were from ten a.m. to two p.m. . Too early
for one, too late for the next. She sighed, and tried
another number. No answer, out of business perhaps, or maybe
just not open and too cheap to buy a machine.
In her frustration she dialed one more number. A man's voice
answered it, "Hello?"
"Hello, can you help me?" Tayani asked. "You have reached
the Immortals Helpline." the gentle voice told her. "I'll
be stopping by for a consultation."
Tayani blinked. That wasn't a fast food place. "I'm sorry!"
she said, too late. "I must have dialed the wrong number?
Hello?! Hello?! Excuse me?!"
A moment later, a handsome young man stepped, elegantly,
through her full-length wardrobe mirror. "Hello? Excuse
me?"
Tayani stumbled back in shock, gaping at him.
He stood there in a pair of dungarees that fit him just
right and a brown leather vest worn over his bare chest,
open to the navel. With his white hair cut in that
particular spiked fashion, he reminded Tayani of the british
punk rocker Billy Idol.
"There's no need to fear." he told her, gently. "Please, let
me introduce myself, I am Rayden, god of lightning and
protector of the realm of Earth."
Tayani blinked at him. "You're Rayden?"
"I am."
"I'm hallucinating." Tayani decided. "I'm so hungry I'm
seeing things."
Rayden waited patiently.
<Reality check, Tayani! Rayden doesn't really exist. Coming
out of the mirror was just a big trick. The other girls are
just playing a joke on you because you can't get a date.>
"Why not?" Rayden had heard her thoughts
"Look at me." Tayani posed for a moment, then slumped down.
"As you can see, I'm not particularly well-endowed."

"The size of your heart is more important than the size of
your body." Rayden explained to her.
Tayani sighed. "I was just trying to order take out."
"Is that your heart's desire?" Rayden asked. "I am allowed
to grant you one wish, and only one."
"Any wish?" Tayani asked. "Even wealth, or fame, or boys
throwing themselves at my feet."
"Any wish." Rayden told her.
Tayani sighed. <Its all just a joke, Tayani. But if it
isn't...> "Okay, she said, I know my wish!"
"You've decided already?" Rayden asked.
Tayani nodded, then boldly made her wish:

"I want you to be my boyfriend forever!"

A moment later, she sagged. "But, since this is all just
some cruel joke being played on me by my dormmates, that's
not going happen, is it?"

A moment later, still, lightning flashed in the dorm-room,
but didn't seem to be actually causing any damage. It
enveloped Rayden who then send a beacon of lightning up into
the vast skies. A moment later, yet again, things calmed
down and Rayden smiled at her:

"I'm pleased to inform you that your wish has been approved."
