Akane wakes up after a battle with Shampoo, a battle in which Ranma was
the prize. Akane won the battle, but is afraid of a video tape made of
Shampoo would kick her butt, even with chi attacks. But let's say for
the sake of argument Akane won.
Do you have any idea what kind of sheer _skill_ you need to use a chi
attack? Unless Shamps has been doing some _serious_ training, she's
toast. It would be like pitting Bruce Lee against a first dan Kempoist
or a Tai Chi _MASTER_ against a first dan Aikidoist. NO CONTEST. Both
Bruce Lee and Tai Chi Masters used Chi attacks (not like we see on Ranma
1/2 but they were Chi attacks all the same). Shamps is the equivalent
of a first or second, maybe third, dan in Kung Fu (sorry to any
practictioners of Kung Fu, but I'm not sure what the equivalent rank
is). If Akane has the skill to learn Chi attacks, Shamps is toast.

Akane looked at Shampoo with a confidant grin. All her training over
the year was going to pay off. With a battle cry, she ran at Shampoo
and met nothing. Shampoo just disappeared.
"Up here, Akane." Shampoo was in the air. She landed neatly on top of
the Tendo girl's head. "Why violent girl no give up and go home?"
A vein protruded from Akane's forehead. She will win if it was the
last thing she did. Her battle aura flared as a huge kick ass hammer
mysteriously appeared in her hand. She immediately swung at the figure
atop her. Again, she met nothing.
Shampoo was again in the air. Instead of landing on Akane's head
again, she decided to have a little fun. A tiny hammer appeared in her
hand with '1 T' in cute letters written on it's side. She tapped it
lightly to Akane's head. "Akane no baka." Shampoo giggled to herself
at her joke and left the shocked Akane on the street.
The End. (maybe)
Author's Notes: First of all Akane's full potential has already been
explored. There was a story line where she gained a battle suit that
brought out all of her skill. Ranma still beat her without going all
out and hitting her. Akane did not used chi attacks and is just not
that good. The hammer is not a chi attack and even if it is, the other
suitors has showed that they can too call forth the hammer. Akane is
NOT better than Ranma when she is angry. The only reason she is able to
hit him is because he let's her. Shampoo, Ukyo, and Ryoga have all been
shown to beat up Ranma at any storyline where he puts his foot in his
mouth. They can also produce that angry battle aura Akane is fond of
doing. This does not prove that they are better than him when they are
angry.
Secondly, Shampoo has trained since she was three as you can see her
fighting off Mousse. Ukyo has been training before she met Ranma as you
can see her fighting off him. Both of them were totally devoted in
their training. Akane had other priorities(friends and school) and did
not train all day every day. Even if Akane somehow manages to increase
her abilities as so many fanfics say she can, what stops Shampoo and
Ukyo from training also and beating her back up? In the shi shi hokodan
story line, Ranma did not win with his weaker chi blasts. He won with
his speed and mind. She's easily faster than Akane as demonstrated
during that memory erasing trick and proved to be stronger than Akane in
the super strength story line. She could easily dodge a blast from
Akane and take her out. Also, many people say that Ukyo would easily be
defeated if you take out her weapons. The fact is, Ukyo is never out of
weapons. She can do the same trick with her mini spatulas as Ryoga does
with his bandana.
In conclusion, if you do write a story where Akane is better than the
rest of the fiancees, please remember in the Takahashi universe the
other girls are sure to come back stronger than before (just look at
Ranma). If you are still not convinced, I will consider turning the
above spamfic into a real story and it will be DARK.
