Maybe it's the vast amount of Eyrie Productions stuff I've been reading
lately (I just spent the last week going through UF and NEE), maybe
it's Andrew's NGEjd, and maybe it's Warhammer's Eva/Tekno thing.

But I feel inspired to write an Eva fic.

The idea goes like this:

Shinji was brought into Nerv righ at the start.  Shinji and Rei were BOTH
injured in testing for Evas 00 and 01, so when the Second Angel shows up
Nerv brings in not one, but two pilots - a set of twins (I dunno, I
thought it might be fun).  The twins aren't reluctant to pilot the Evas at
all, hell, they're EAGER.

This would require a change in the fundamental NERV policy of one Eva, one
pilot, but it could work.  (Actually, it makes more sense from a miliatry
standpoint....)

So it would be alternaverse of sorts. 

Oh, the inspirational quote (from a co-worker after I spent 20 minutes
trying to explain Eva to him):

"What fourteen year old kid in his right mind WOULDN'T want to pilot a
fourty foot tall robot and inflict massive property damage?  If it was me
wild horses couldn't drag me away from the opportunity!"

Maybe I'll spend the weekend typing up the first episode and see where it
takes me.
