Since I gotten my Ranma 1/2 fanfic out (at least the first part) and I
keep getting the ideas in my head.  I've decided to go ahead with part 2 of A

A Better Future

Part 2
     Little Asuka ran down hall, headed for her mothers room. Her mother was
be going to be so happy when she heard the good news. *It'll probably makes
her all better.* Thought Little Asuka.
      "MAMA! MAMA! I'M SPECIAL! THEY....chos..." Little Asuka stop seeing,
her mother hanging from the rafters.
       Asuka woke up with a start. She was in bed. For a while she let
herself beleave it was all a dream, but the irritation in what was her left
eye let her know otherwise. Despite the irritation, Asuka began to look at
her surrondings. She was in a hospital of somesort. The room had hospital
equipment, but it also had a home feeling to it that you just don't get in a
big hospital.
    "Ahhh! Your awake." Asuka turn her head to see a man in his mid-twinties
enter the room smiling. He was wearing glasses and what looked like a martial
arts gi.
    "W-Who are you? Where am I?" asked Asuka
    "I'm Dr. Tofu. You were brought to my clinic severl days ago by one of my
regulars. You were suffering from massive eye trauma, cause by the loss of
your left eye. Lets have look shall we." The docter carfully removed the
bandage covering her eye.
     "Well everything looks okay. I'll probley feel a little tender for a
while. Take a look." said Dr. Tofu holding up a mirror.
     "I thought you said I lost my eye?"
     "You did. While you were unconscious I had a specailist come in and put
in a glass one. He'll be back tomarrow to show you how to care for it. He'll
also bring a selection of others, although I think we got a good match for
now." 
      It did indeed look like her right eye. Asuka noticed however that the
glass eye didn't move.
      "Now if you don't mind. I like to ask you a few questions."
      "Uhh. Sure."
      "Name?"
      Oh! Soryu, Asuka Langley Soryu."
      "Can you tell me how you lost your eye?"
      *Yes. This giant white robot throw a 400 foot spear into the eye of my
giant robot and the neural feedback caused my eyeball to explode.*  Instead
Asuka said "I...I..can't remember."
       "Can you remember how you ended up in that lot?"
       *This woman claiming to be a goddess sent me to that lot to save the
world.* "Ummm...No."
       "Can you tell me where you live?"
       *Eighteen years from now in a city that was built after this one was
destroyed.* "I ..know I lived in Japan but I can't remember were. I did use
to live in Germany."
      "Hmmm. I think the shock might have caused you to lose some of your
memory. I think you should rest now. We'll continue tomarrow."
      "Y-Yes. Rest....think."
      "Just call if you need anything, I'll be in the next room." Dr. Tofu
got up to leave the room.
      "Okay. Ahh Docter?"
      "Yes Asuka?"
      "D-Do you have me on drugs?"
      "Just mild pain killers. Why do ask?"
      "I-I-I'm seeing this large panda sweeping your office!"
      "Oh that just Mr. Saotome. Don't worry he's harmless." said Dr.Tofu as
he left the room.
      *Harmless! Weird is more like it.* Although Asuka had to admit that Pen
Pen had been pretty weird too.
       Asuka then turned to the problem at hand. *That goddess. What's her
name? I was so angry I didn't quite catch it. What was it? Scud? Skurd?
Whatever. That goddess must have decided to have me stop everything,
including second impact.*
         *But how? I really don't know were to begin.*
         *NERV?.......No, they don't exist yet.*
         *Gendo?......No, even if the son of bitch was involved with second
impact he couldn't do it alone. He have to have help or take orders from
someone else. Still, I guess it wouldn't hurt to chick up on him.*
         *The antarctic expedition?.....Maybe, but they'll probley just send
anothere one instead.*
         *The First Angel?.....Again maybe, but how do I deal with an angel
without my EVA?*
         It was then that Asuka remembered something from her last battle.
Her orders. "Defind NERV headquarters from the troops sent by SEELE." SEELE.
They had started third impact, they could have started the second one as
well. She would have to find out more.
         Asuka had just over two years before half the world went KABOOM.
She then had sixteen years after that before the other half went KABOOM.
Right now she needed information.
       "Hey Asuka? Are you going to school?" called Dr.Tofu from the next
room.
       "Ah....No, I don't think so."
       School was the last thing she needed. After all she had already gone
to collage. Of corse her degree was sixteen years in the future. What she
needed now was information, not school. Then something occured to her.
*I can get info at school. Schools have libraries, laboratories, media rooms,
computers........computers with internet access!* Yes, maybe she should go
back to school.
       Asuka called out "Hey Dr. Tofu?"
       "yes?"
       "Do you know any good high schools near here?"
       "There's Furinkan High severl blocks from here."
       "Do they have computers there?"
       "Yes, I think so."
       "Good. I think I'll go there."
       "That's a very wise decision. A good education is very important and
besides you might make some good friends there."
       "Hmmm...friends" Asuka started to think about her friends. Friends
that were massacred by SEELE troops. Friends that were murdered by their
co-workers. Friends that were eaten alive by monsters.
       "No Dr. Tofu." Asuka whispered "I don't think I'll be making any more
friends."
