Here it is. The first half of the fic. I would have to call this part one.
Next time when I post this, it will be the WHOLE THING THOUGH, not just
part two. If this isn't as good as expected, I may request the help of
experienced Miyu fanfic writers. <This IS only my second posted fic, and
the first one bombed.> So, if you have comments, or helpful hints, mail
me. Any flames will be deleted, thank you. If anyone has ideas as to a
good ending to this, tell me. I'm at a loss for an ending, although the
middle is working fine. ^_^ ENJOY!!!!

		      ~~PRELUDE~~
	She fell to the ground before the shocked young girl. Shocked. It
was all she could be. She'd just killed her own mother. She put her hand
over her mouth, gasping. "Okaasan....I...I..." She stood up, and ran as
fast as she could. All she could see was her mother's face, her eyes, and
her pain. Tears flew from her face, as she raced against the wind.

	Years passed. She hadn't felt any of it. She looked just as she
had when she was thirteen years old. All that she could feel was pain.
Sorrow.
	Kyuuketsuki. That was what they called her. When she was younger,
or, rather, a few years ago, she couldn't admit it. She wasn't a vampire.
She tried to keep her craving for blood inside. No one must know. But
everytime she thought about how much she hated the bloodlust, she thought
back to that day. The day she killed her mother. She held back the tears,
as she had for years. She'd tried to forget.
	Forget.

	Another woman had also tried to forget. She tried to forget the
demon child that had taken her soul away. She would never forget.
	Spiritualist. How can a spiritualist exorcise demons when they
themselves carry the blood of a devil inside their body?
	No. She wouldn't forget that girl ever in her life.

	At one time, demons and gods were as one. For the present, let us
call these beings "Shinma." But the Shinma were banished to the Dark. It
was the humans who feared them who brought this about. On the night the
Dark and the Earth met, a young girl strayed into their midsts. This is
her story. Her name is.....

		~~~A Kyuuketsuki Miyu fanfiction~~~
		          "Memorial"
	"Shinma Ryuukitsu! I banish you to the Dark!" The girl gathered
the energy of a fireball in her palm, flinging it at the writhing demon.
It gave a final cry of defeat, before the 'door' to the Dark opened above,
sucking it in.
	She brushed her hands off, and turned to her guardian. "Well,
Larva. That's one less shinma to hunt." Larva gathered her into his arms.
>From behind them came the sound of clapping. The girl spun around. "Who's
there?"
	From the forest, a figure emerged. "Well, Miyu, I see you're still
hunting the shinma. And getting better too. An eternity certainly has
helped." The shadowed form revealed a knife. "But now it's my turn to hunt
a demon."
	Himeko shook in her restless sleep, and awoke with a start. She'd
had that same dream many times before. It was like Miyu was haunting her.
	Maybe she was. Himeko hadn't seen her since the day she'd found
out the truth about what happened that day in Kamakura. Since that day,
Himeko had tried to make the most of living forever. But the more she
tried, the less it helped. She felt like every moment she remained alive,
she was drawn farther and farther from her life.
	Farther and farther from living.
	Himeko shook away the thoughts that plagued her, and lay back down
on the low futon. She rolled over, and tried to sleep again.
	"Shinma Tobuto, I banish you to the Dark!" She gathered the energy
in her hand, and shot the blazing red fireball at the demon. Moments
later, the door opened once more, and pulled the monster in.
	Miyu sighed. "Well, Larva. We become closer and closer to freedom
every day." She leapt into his open arms, and leaned against his chest.
	The trees behind them shook in the wind, and someone could be
heard laughing faintly. Miyu spun around.
	Miyu smiled. "I knew you would come, Himeko-san."
	Himeko threw the covers from her bed, and put her feet on the
ground. That was a new dream. It was no where near as frightening as the
other, but she still was afraid. Miyu had that effect on her.
	She poured a mug of coffee, and sat down at the small table. She
was lucky to have found an apartment so cheap. And in Kyoto too.
	The telephone rang, and she picked it up. "Moshi-moshi, Se Himeko,
exorcist, speaking." A voice from the other end answered, "Miss Se, I
believe I have a job for you." Himeko put the mug down, and listened to
the man's problem. She nodded. "I'll be right over."
	The man escorted her through his garden, slowly explaining the
details. "You see, Miss Se, my wife and I just purchased this house, and
we have felt strange prescences lately," he pointed at a tree. "This
appears to be the source." Himeko examined the small cherry tree, but no
clues as to it's origin or effects. She turned to the man again, "Why do
you suspect this tree?" He thought a moment. "It was really my niece's
suspicion. She has experience in supernatural fields, and she said that an
evil energy had settled near it." Himeko nodded. "There is evil nearby,
maybe not in the tree, but nearby. Could I meet your niece?" The man
nodded.
	Himeko followed him through the narrow hallway of the house, and
he opened a door for her. "She's in there." Himeko walked cautiously into
the dark room.
	She peered around the room. There was almost no light, save a tiny
candle lit in the corner. "Hello again, Himeko-san." Himeko shuddered at
the voice. "No...it can't be." The lights flickered on to reveal the
vampire princess, Miyu.
	Miyu laughed. "I'm sorry Himeko-san. You thought you'd been called
here for a job, didn't you?"  Himeko grabbed the cross from around her
neck, ready to throw it, when she remembered what happened the last time
she tried. It became dust in Miyu's grip. The vampire laughed again.
"Himeko, I need your help," Miyu motioned to the low table, set with a pot
of tea and two teacups. "Have a seat. I wish to talk to you." Himeko
complied.
	Himeko sipped the tea gently, as Miyu told her story. "Larva and I
have been hunting the Shinma for quite some time now, and we've found that
no matter how many we banish, more keep coming. We need your help in
finding the source of their escape." Himeko placed her cup on the table.
"And what if I help you? What good will that do me?" Miyu lowered her cup
then. "Maybe it won't do you any good at all. But I must tell you that
among the Shinma there is one that can kill vampires. That is the one you
saw in your dreams." Himeko's eyes widened. "You mean, you know about the
dreams?" Miyu nodded. "I am the one who sent them. I had to tell you
somehow." Himeko gasped, but Miyu continued. "I need your help,
Himeko-san. It can only be you." Himeko rose from her seat. "I need some
time to decide," she said flatly, turning to leave. Miyu agreed. "You have
until sundown tonight. Larva and I may not even have that much time."
Himeko opened the door, and left the house slowly. Miyu stared after her.
"Please Himeko. Daskete," Miyu thought softly.
	Himeko turned the key, opening the door to her apartment. She
threw off her shoes and coat, and flopped down on the couch. She shut her
eyes, hoping it had all been a dream, and that little monster wasn't
really seeking her help.
	Miyu's words floated back to her..."I need your help,
Himeko-san... Larva and I may not even have that much time...
Himeko-san..." She rolled over on the couch. "Well, maybe she really needs
my help. And, besides, if I can stop the Shinma for her, maybe she would
go away for a while, and stop haunting my mind," Himeko sighed. "I suppose
I'll help her..."
	"I knew you would, Himeko-san," the all too familiar voice said
gravely. Himeko leapt up, and saw Miyu's small form seated on her back
porch. The girl beckoned to Himeko, who stalked out onto the balcony.
"What are you doing here?" Miyu motioned to the sky. "Can't you see it?
The sun...It sets as we speak. Time is short." Himeko thought a moment,
then continued, "But what is our plan? We can't just walk around, looking
for a stray Shinma that has a knife, can we?" Miyu spun around with a
start, "You saw the knife?"  Himeko nodded, confused at the question. Miyu
looked at her feet. "No human being can see that knife. That means your
vampiric side has awakened, which means that you can be killed as one. You
are in as much danger as I am... despite your earthly backgrounds." Himeko
protested, "But that knife was real. You saw it, obviously, and how is it
you didn't know I saw it, if you sent me those dreams, huh?" Miyu turned
her face away. "Perhaps I shall tell you one day, Himeko-san..." The
exorcist still wasn't satistfied. "Miyu, if you expect me to get involved,
I want to know what the hell is going on around here." The princess just
rose softly into the air, "Himeko, the Shinma will appear tonight at the
park where we first met. Be there soon, if you still want to help.. Ironic,
though...The park where you first consciously knew the 'demon child' is
the park where you will meet that which can kill her. And to fight on her
side, no less. Himeko-san, you are a brave soul," Miyu vanished into the
fading sun, her voice echoing behind.
