    Excuse me, what is the point of making fun of someone for the TYPE
of story they write? Last I knew this mailing list was for discussion of
stories, not for hurtimg people. If you don't like that type of story,
fine, you're entitled to that. What isn't right is to potentially hurt
someone because of that.

Never, never, never, make fun of people, or the specific stories they
right. What I'm talking about is parody, makeing fun of ourselfs. Or to
put it anyother way, MST our own fics. That's what I'm suggesting.
(Shrugs) Sorry, I thought it would be fun to parody what we do for fun.
I love to read them, love to write them, and I think that laughing at
yourself and what you do is something that must be done from time to
time.

    I owe you an apology, what I said was unacceptable. I could also make
the excuse that I was also short on sleep which is true, but it wouldn't be
right. I happen to like self-insert stories, if done well.

   With all the bashing I'd seen lately of the genre I was irritable and
wanted to lash out. Unfortunately I was predisposed to be negative before I
read your message, so I went on an unwarranted attack. (Well, it is true
your message was a little unclear, but the fault was mostly on my part.) I
was even more ready to attack because I am writing that kind of story.

Who knows whether I'm actually doing it well. (A little irrelevant I know
but I felt like saying it.)

   So I hope you'll accept this apology and be able to ignore my rather
nuclear previous message.

I withdraw the challenge.

   Your idea has merit so I wouldn't give up on it, I just want in the
proper frame of mind to see it for what it was.
