would rush his wife to the hospital if he thought things were as
serious as Tofu was saying.  He needs to have some better reason for
believing something's going on (even if you have to rely on that old
literary standby of omens, foreshadowing, and portents).

Well, Richard's already established that TILma develops a "sixth sense"
for magical or pseudo-magical danger, and it is no doubt this sense which
informs TILma *not* to move BEkane.
