The Senior Ball

Part 1: Opposites attract..The Understatement of the Century

(Ryuunosuke is looking at a poster; its an advertisement for the Senior Class
Ball.  The camera moves to do a closeup of the poster, which has an attractive
young woman dancing with a handsome young man on it.  Suddenly.  The young
woman's face changes; it becomes Ryuu's face.(For those who couldn't figure it
out, this was just Ryuu's imagination.)  She sighs and continues down the
hall.  She spots Megane, who in turn spots her. Suddenly he appears to be very
nervous; his glasses fog up and he appears to be shaking.  With some effort,
he walks up to Ryuunosuke.)

MEGANE: Ryu..Ryuunosuke...I kinda..um..that is to say..if you wouldn't mind..I
thought...

RYUU[Getting rather irritated]: Spit it out if yer gonna!

MEGANE: Well..uh..would you like to um..go to the Senior Ball?  With me?

(Ryuu is shocked.  She never expected anyone to ask her, least of all a guy.
She takes a second to think about it.  Megane is a nice guy...not as perverted
as Moroboshi or a lot of the other guys in school.  He is intelligent, serious
minded and..cute.  Ryuu can't believe she is thinking this.)

RYUU: Hmm...eh..I guess there's no reason we couldn't go if you really wanted
to...(turns a bit red)

MEGANE: REALLY?!?!  I mean, ah yes OK then...well, now that this is settled I
guess I'll see you around then..

RYUU: Yeah..see ya.

(Megane nods in goodbye and walks past her.  Ryuunosuke can barely believe
what has happened; she's going to the Senior Ball..with a guy!  Her thoughts
are interrupted when she is clomped on to from behind by someone.  She doesn't
even need to see who it is.)

RYUU: MO..RO..BO..SHI..!

ATARU: Ryuu!  My love!  What time shall I pick you up for the senior ball?!

(Ryuu rips him off her and slams him to the floor.)

RYUU: I'd sooner go with Onsen-Mark than you!

(Ataru recovers and clomps back onto her.)

ATARU: Don't say things like that!  Surely our relationship is...

(Ryuunosuke once again rips Ataru off her and hurls him through the ceiling of
Tomobiki  High)

RYUU: WHAT RELATIONSHIP!?!

(Ryuu sighs and walks away.  Cut to later that day.  Ataru is up in his room,
receiving an electric lynching from Lum.)

LUM: DAAARLING!!!!   You're going to take _ME_ to the Senior Ball!  How could
you go and ask some other girl behind your wife's back?
ATARU: Kyaaa!!!  Fine, I'll take you to the damn dance!  Just lemme go!

(Lum stops shocking Ataru and hugs him.)

LUM: Hurray!  Darling and I are going to the ball!

(Cut to the Mendou estate.  Mendou is sitting on the couch, reading a book on
octopus  breeding.

MENDOU'S DAD(from downstairs): Shuutaro, could you come down here a minute?

MENDOU: Coming, Father.

(Cut to Mendou coming down the stairs where his father is sitting in an
armchair.)

MENDOU'S DAD: Shuutaro, do you have a date for your senior ball yet?

MENDOU: No, Father.  Why do you ask?

MENDOU'S DAD: Well, if you don't mind, there's a very good friend of mine who
has a lovely daughter.  She's a few years younger than you, but if you don't
mind, would you take her to that ball?

MENDOU: Hmm...I suppose I could do that.  

MENDOU'S DAD: Good!  I'll call Ryuuzaki right away.   

(Cut to Shinobu's bedroom.  Shinobu is on the phone with Inaba.  The screen
turns into a split screen with Shinobu on the left and Inaba on the right.

SHINOBU: So, would you like to go?

INABA: Shinobu...I love to go!  And I am so thrilled that you asked me!

SHINOBU(smiles): Great!  Then you'll need to buy a tux.  

INABA(shocked): What?  I'll have to wear that over my rabbit suite....?  Then
it'll be twice as hot!

(A large sweatdrop forms on the back of Shinobu's head.

SHINOBU: Inaba...you can always take your rabbit suite off..

(Cut to the mall.  Ryuunosuke is looking into a shop window at a dress.  It's
a long white flowing gown.  Ryuu is about to go in and buy white her eye
catches the price tag.  She sighs heavily.)

VOICE FROM BEHIND RYUU: Do you want that dress?

(Ryuunosuke turns around to see a slightly older girl behind her.  She
blushes; this girl is gorgeous.  She has shoulder length blue-green hair and
blue eyes.  She's wearing a black coat over a white blouse and a black skirt.)

RYUU: Yeah well kinda....but I really can't afford it.

GIRL: Well then, I'll buy it for you.

(Ryuunosuke watches in amazement as the girl goes in and buys the dress, then
comes back out.)

GIRL(gives the dress to Ryuu): Here you go.  I hope you enjoy it.

(The girl turns to walk away.)

RYUU: Wait!  What's your name?

GIRL: Michiru.  Michiru Kaiou.

Well!  I certainly had a lot of fun writing this!  Yes ,in case you hadn't
guessed, the Michiru who bought Ryuu's dress was none other than Sailor Moon's
own Sailor Neptune.  She may or may not appear in subsequent parts.   I want
this to be a very funny fic.  Remeber, C&C are welcome!
