Okay, first off, yes, I know I already posted this. I'm reposting
this for three reasons: 1) Fix spelling errors, 2) This is a Christmas
story (more or less) and it fits the holidays, and 3) included is a
short teaser for Destiny's Path for those impatient souls out there.
:-) So...without further ado...here we go again!!

<Sailor Moon is copyright Naoko Takeuchi/Kodansha/Toei Entertainment
and brought over to NA (in one form or another) by DiC Entertainment.
No profit is being made from this, so don't sue me, I'm a college
student, and thus, have no money.>

Oh, one more thing. This fic may contain high amounts of WAFF.
The terminally angst may find discomfort while reading.

C&Cs (even MSTings [I dare you!!] ) always helpful!

      The Miracle

A story from the Chronicles of the Crystal Knights

      Knight Productions
******************************************

    -Crystal Tokyo, December 25, 3012 A.D.-

"Aunt Erica!" Major Erica Carter looked down as a five year old
girl grabbed onto her leg. The red haired commander of the Crystal
Knights looked at the little blonde.

"Hi, Eimi! What do you want?" she said playfully. The
little girl smiled.

"Mom said to ask you if you knew any Christmas stories.
That story of Mom saving Grandma from a laser satellite on
Christmas is getting real old." she said.

"Well, she has been telling that particular story for most of
this century, so I guess it could be getting a little old." Major
Carter agreed, then scooped up the child. "Tell you what, as
soon as we've finished dinner, I'll tell you a story that'll top any
your mom ever told. In fact, Eimi, your mother was involved in this
story."

"Really?" The little blonde's eyes lit up.

"Yep. Now," Carter said while putting down the girl, "race
you!" she said while taking off for the Throne Room at high speed.

"HEY!! Not fair!!" Eimi said while running to catch up with
Carter. Eimi soon had Major Carter eating her dust (literally).

The two of them entered the Throne Room of the Crystal Palace,
where the rest of the guests for the King and Queen's Christmas dinner
were gathered and milling around. Eimi went over to her mother-Captain
Atsuko Natsume, Major Carter's XO in the Crystal Knights-while Carter
herself was catching her breath over by the door. Two slim arms
suddenly locked around Erica's waist.

"Hi. Were you racing Eimi again?"

"Yeah. Don't know why I bother, though. She inherited her speed
and strength from her mother, so any race with her is pretty much
decided before it starts!" Carter said with a smile.

"Hey! Is that a smile I see?"

"Okay, you caught me, it was. I guess Christmas is one of the two
times I can let myself smile, at least before I met the Senshi."

"Ah...so what were the other times?"

In response, Major Erica Carter turned around and looked at the
slim....female...form she held in her arms. "The other times were with
my family before the accident, and...every time I look at you."

Major Julia Martins looked at her girlfriend with caring eyes. "I'm
glad. Now, do me a favor and look up there." She pointed upwards.

Carter looked upwards. A bundle of mistletoe hung from the
doorframe. "Well," she said, "can't waste this opportunity."
she said with a smile.

Julia's only response was to lean in close and give Erica a
passionate kiss. It would suffice to say that Erica Carter knew when
to shut up and enjoy life. Carter kissed her back with an equal amount
of love.

The kiss was ended when Princess Usagi bapped them on the head with
the Pink Heart Moon Scepter. "Hey you two," the 14 year old Princess
and Sailor Senshi of the future moon said, "can you possibly save it
for later?"

"Ah, the labors of expressing true love while staying in decorum!"
Major Carter said with a flourish. Both Julia and Usagi both rolled
their eyes and laughed.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." the Princess said, "Come on, we're seating
for dinner now."

"Okay, Chibi-Usa, we're coming." Major Carter said. The two Terran
Federation officers straightened out their uniforms, and hand in hand,
followed Princess Usagi into the dining hall.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   -The writer took this moment to pause and look out at the audience.
   "Okay, you can pick your jaws off the floor now.  That little WAFF
scene is the indirect result of one of the storylines I'm planning for
Destiny's Path.  So consider yourself warned."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In the grand dining hall, the Christmas dinner, presided over by
Neo-Queen Serenity and her husband, Neo-King Endymion, went smoothly,
and soon the children (of the senshi and of various long time friends
and comrades) were gathered in front of the Christmas tree in the Throne
Room, with the adults behind them.

Major Carter looked at the attentive audience bafore clearing her
throat. "Okay, my story does't exactly have anything to do with
Christmas, but it does have something to do with miracles, especially
the miracle of life. In fact, my story involves your mothers and one of
our early adventures." She nodded towards Serenity and her court-the
Sailor Senshi. Usagi, who had already guessed what story this was,
grinned and listened attentively. "It all began with an attack by a
evil plant life form looking to destroy Earth....."

As she talked, the gem in Carter's wrist gauntlet started to glow,
and she remembered a little line her mother used to say before
telling her a bedtime story, so long ago......

         "Taleweaver, take up your tools
create a story from the fabric of life everlasting
make it last as long as life itself.
           Storyteller, take up your tools
take the tapestry of the Taleweaver and
tell its story so the tale
           can be everlasting......"

    -20th Century Earth: Date unknown-

"Stupid piece of junk!!" Major Carter swore as the EDF starship
prototype Silver Moon faltered again as she tried to go to maximum
speed. The Crystal Knights were out on drills when they had recieved a
emergency call. Seemed something had attacked the Sailor Senshi and
wiped the floor with them. Tuxedo Kamen had been hurt protecting Sailor
Moon, and the alien attacking had taken Tuxedo Kamen and teleported
away. And now the Sailor Senshi, battered as they were, were tele
porting to the asteroid where the alien was to rescue him and stop the
alien before he could release some sort of "energy vampire" flower on
Earth.

EDF headquarter on Liberty Station had ordered the Crystal Knights to
intercept the asteroid, rescue the Senshi, and then destroy the asteroid
before it got too close to Earth. The reason the Crystal Knights were
ordered to do it was because no one else was in position to intercept
the asteroid.

Only problem was, the Silver Moon had departed Liberty half ready.
Half her weapons were uninstalled, her jump drive was not installed, the
engines hadn't been checked, and her long range communications were iffy
at best. The only thing that was working with any degree of excellence
was her shield generators, which could stand up to an obcsene amount of
firepower.

On the small bridge of the Silver Moon, Major Carter sat at the
helm, trying to get max speed out of the ship. Captain Atsuko Natsume
was at the ship's sensor systems, Lt. Sayoko Keikio was sitting at the
communications station, trying to make it work, Lt. Mariko Lin sat at
one of the engineering stations, trying to balance the engines, Lt. Jake
Andrews sat next to her, assisting in the effort to repair the engines,
and Lt. Amy Sullivan sat at the weapons console, figuring out what they
had available.

Carter turned to Natsume. "Anything yet?"

"Nothing yet...Wait! I'm getting something now." Natsume
adjusted some controls on the sensors. "Defintely an energy reading,
computer says it's Sailor Moon and....Oh God!!"

      "What? What?"

Natsume turned to Carter, and at that moment, Carter knew
that androids could really feel emotions. "Her energy readings are
fading. Fast."

"Major?" This was from Sullivan. "We're in weapons range.
I have the 'petals' of that thing targeted. Shall I fire?"

"Fire four cluster warheads at the petals, if anything
hostile comes at us, reconfigure the shields as a battering ram and run
straight through them. We must reach the Senshi!" As she said this,
Carter pushed the throttle to the limits, and this time, the Silver Moon
responded by accelrating to maximum speed. While she was accelrating
towards the asteroid, four missles popped out of the wing launchers and
sped towards the asteroid.

At ten seconds to impact, the missles broke apart and launched its
payload of cluster missles, which struck the asteroid, scattering flower
petals everywhere. As the Silver Moon was heading towards the asteroid,
it broke apart, the four petals drifting away while the center section,
with the Senshi on it, accelerated towards Earth.

"What happening now?" Carter asked while turning the Silver
Moon around in pursuit.

"Well...I can tell you what will happen if we don't reach them in
time. Does the phrase 'instant barbque' mean anything to you? They'll
hit the atmosphere in thirty seconds."

"Well, that's not happening! Hang on!!" With that, Carter
settled into a chase of the asteroid fragment nearing Earth. The
fragment with Earth's greatest warriors on it. "Advise when we're in
tractor range." she said.

"Getting another energy reading now....oh crap!! Usagi's
using the Silver Crystal!!"

"Tractor beam ineffective! Too much energy surrounding the
asteroid!" Sullivan reported.

The crew of the Silver Moon could only watch, as their
tractor beam attempted to lock on to the runaway fragment and was
bounced off, as Sailor Moon transformed to Princess Serenity and
activated the Silver Crystal in an attempt to save her friends.

Major Carter struggled to keep the ship with the rock as they
raced through the atmosphere, the aforementioned rock breaking
up under the intense stress and heat, with only the fragment the Senshi
were standing on remaining.

The Silver Moon's shields fared better, altough her hull was
taking a heck of a thermal beating. They watched as the other Senshi
used their powers to support Usagi in her effort. The struggle
continued as the fragment reached for and attained a stable orbit
around the Earth.

        Then.....

        "NO!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!!!"

"What happened?" Carter asked her suddenly pale second in
command.

       "The Crystal....the Crystal....shattered. I can't get
any life reading from Usagi now. The asteroid's settled into an orbit
100 miles above the Equator."

"Get me an intercept course." Carter said quietly, as
she turned the Silver Moon towards the asteroid. Salior Moon had
accomplished a miracle, but at the cost of her own life.

        Or was it?

The sensor station started beeping as the Silver Moon
swung into position to retrieve the Senshi. Natsume turned to it. At
her shout, all of the Crystal Knights turned to her.

      "She's alive!! Usagi's alive!! I don't know how, but she's
alive!!"

As the Crystal Knights cheered, the Silver Moon drifted above the
weary Senshi. This time, the tractor worked as they were dragged from
the asteroid into the Silver Moon's cargo bay. As the Senshi piled into
the cockpit, Tuxedo Kamen carrying his future bride (Sailor Moon), Major
Erica Carter permitted herself a small luxury, one she hadn't had the
inclination to do ever since her boyfriend, her family, and her entire
hometown was destroyed by a hellmouth.

       She smiled.

The Silver Moon, with its cargo of weary Senshi and Crystal
Knights, turned towards Earth, as explosions marked the destruction of
the rest of the asteroid by Liberty Station's weapons......

       -Crystal Tokyo-

Nighttime in Crystal Tokyo was always a beautiful sight.
Christmastime was an especially lovely time at night, since the Palace
was lit up-to use a old tired cliche-like a Christmas tree. Gold,
blue, red and green lights shimmered from the Palace.

On a bench outside the Palace, two young (well, relatively
young) people sat watching the Palace.

Erica Carter turned to look at Julia Martins. "So," she said,
"what now?"

"That was a beautiful story. When did it happen?" Julia
asked.

"Well, if I guess right, it happened right after the battle
with the Dark Moon Clan. At least, that's my guess."

"Oh, well, in any case, it was a beautiful story."

"Yeah, you look around and you miss the fact that there is a
miracle happening all around us. What happened up there was a miracle
in its own right, but look around, there are miracles happening in the
flowers, the sky, a nd even the city. It's the miracle....of life. I
guess that's what Christmas has always meant to me, and that's why I
told that story."

"Well, there's also another miracle present in this
city, well, other than the Senshi."

      "Oh?" Julia said. "What?"

"The miracle of love." And with that, it was Erica's turn to kiss
her.

When the kiss ended, Erica took Julia by her hands and stood up.
"Come on, I've got a special dinner waiting for us in my quarters, and I
told Makoto not to expect us in the morning." she said with a smile.

The two of them raced to the Palace, which was lighting up with
a message:

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!!!

-end-

-Author's Notes-

Gack. My first seriously WAFFy piece. I hope the sugar level isn't too
high for your health.

In case anyone is wondering what the events in the story are, its the
Sailor Moon R movie, near the end (one of my favorite scenes).

The...errrr.....central relationship: Yes, I am aiming for that in the
Destiny's Path series. You have any problems with that, you know my
E-mail address.

Now, on to the trailer....

***********************************************************************
Eva-01 burst through the door to the Terminal Dogma, leaving behind a
ragged hole in the reinforced steel door, which Sailor Moon, Tuxedo
Kamen, and Major Carter's Excalibur stepped through.

As the Evangelion stepped into the room, Shinji was looking for
whatever had motivated him to punch through the door. Instead he found
his father, Rei, and one other familiar person...

"YOU!!" he gasped, recognizing the third person with Rei and his
father.

Sailor Pluto looked up at the Evangelion. "Hello Shinji Ikari."
she said. "We meet again."
