I figure it's about time I do an Author's Notes section, as I prepare
to get back to work on chapter 22....
Since there haven't been much in the way of author's notes on O:RS so
far, I figured it's time to say a few words about O:RS and everything
involved in its creation...
First, of course, the obligatory legal disclaimers. Ranma 1/2 is the
creation of Takahashi Rumiko. Magic Knight Rayearth is the creation
and property of CLAMP. Also, various cameos and references to other
anime will appear, which I'll deal with in the final notes at the end
of O:RS.
Now, on to the notes...
The biggest round of praise goes to Jorge Pratt, without whom this
fic would not be what it is. His advice, opinions, comments, and
ideas have helped me shape Onna: Red Side into the wonderous epic
it's become.
Another round of praise for Fuu Hououji, the maintainer of Cephiro,
the single largest information site I've found on Magic Knight
Rayearth, a site
which I have relied upon heavily in collecting Rayearth information,
since when I went into this thing, there were (and still are, come to
think of it) things about Rayearth I was less knowledgeable about.
With the use of Fuu's site, I managed to pick up enough info to
become comfortable with what I was doing.
And last, but definitely not least, thanks to everyone who has taken
a moment to comment on Onna: Red Side. From the time I posted the
very first chapter of this thing, up until now...six months later!!
Whoa!!...I've received hundreds of comments on O:RS, from all over
the net...here on the FFML, people who read it on RAAC, and people
finding it on my web site. I appreciate all the comments, and want to
thank everyone who comments on O:RS in the nicest way possible: by
continuing with the next chapter of the story.
Now, some technical notes:
Starting at the end of act 3, we see the characters of MKR2 begin to
appear. I'll confess to a bit of dramatic license I took with the
Autozam ship NSX. The bridge of the NSX in fact has a much different
layout from what is depicted in Onna: Red Side. For various reasons,
I wanted to give the bridge the look and feel of a typical starship
bridge you might find on any number of vessels in Star Trek. As for
Lady Mirage...I think it's obvious where the inspiration for her
character design came from ^_^.
Hmmm...that's all I can really think of to say for right now. Back to
work...expect to see chapter 22 of Onna: Red Side *VERY SOON*.

America must truly be a great country indeed,
for Americans can so easily sneer upon the
fine, quality works of Japanese animators, which
fall far short of shows featuring flatulent bovines
and dialogue such as "Ready, Ike? Kick the baby!"
