I see that the ORIG tag is starting to get me into trouble.
I knew something would be coming, but not so soon.
I'll admit to my bias at this point. I like developing Genjuro. I think
he's got some real potential and I'd like the freedom to delve into it.
On the other hand, I'll acknowledge that doing so would turn off a great
number of readers. It's bound to do that the minute I slap on the ORIG
tag. I even admit to being a little biased in that respect. I read few
fully original fics simply because I've done such a horrible job the first
time I tried. I don't want to risk reading anything that was anywhere
near as bad as the stuff I put out before.
I will try to add more Ranma into the fic, when I have the time and the
energy to sit down and think about how I can insert Ranma and Co. into the
fic. As it is now, I find it difficult to find a point in the previous
chapters that allow for the same impact. That again, is my personal
opinion.
I'd like to maintain the level of insensity and focus on Genjuro to really
allow people to dig into his character and develop a sense of sympathy for
him. I'm afraid of detracting from that by adding in Ranma or any of the
cast at this point.
I'll give it a whirl, but not until I've really had a chance to think
about it. I'm open to suggestions, but at this point I don't personally
see any place in the chapters where I can insert Ranma and Co. without
breaking the movement of the fic.
If you don't like it, I guess you don't. If you do, then I'm happy. I'm
writing this because I like writing. If you don't like what I write, then
I guess that's too bad.
We'll see what happens. I can't make any promises.
