Greetings and Salutations:
	Here is part 2. Enjoy!

----------------------------------------
When love is truly right
(This time it's truly right)
It lives from year to year
It changes as it goes
Oh and on the way, it grows
But, It NEVER disappears
----------------------------------------
Haruka was in a mild state of Panic. Michiru had not said a word since
they left the restaurant. Haruka could STILL feel the chill emanating
from the one true love in her life. She was very upset, and Haruka KNEW
it. She hoped that if it all worked out, Michiru would not be too upset
at her. Suddenly, there was a noise coming from her jacket pocket.
Michiru looked at Haruka and inquired what the noise was about?
Haruka shrugged "It's just my mobile phone. I gave my number to the
guys at the garage, in case any problems came up." Michiru looked on
with some interest. She was STILL very upset with Haruka, but she would
not dignify her with a response.
Haruka looked at Michiru, and sent a small quiet prayer to the heavens
that this would NOT blow up in her face. She answered the phone, spoke
briefly into it for a few moments, and then, turned to Michiru.
"Sorry, to do this love, but, that was the Garage. A part I have been
waiting for has just come in, and I have to go get it. I'll take you
home afterwards" Haruka said, and the recoiled as she saw the raw FURY
that seemed to be barely contained in her true love's eyes. Michiru
spoke only three words, but the power in those three words could have
killed an army of soldiers.
"MAKE. IT. QUICK." She said between clenched teeth. Haruka nervously
gulped at that, and drove a little faster. *If she thinks that she can
get away with ruining this night* Michiru thought *She is in for a
SERIOUS awakening.
The first thing that caught Michiru's attention was the fact that they
were NOT headed towards the garage, but, rather, to the bay. "Haruka, I
thought we were going to pick up this PART (She emphasized with no small
amount of anger), and then go home!" Michiru said.
"The person I'm getting the part from has a boat in the bay. He said he
was going to meet me at the docks. Really, love, it'll only be a
minute!" Haruka protested.
"Fine, let's just go and get it.
	"Right"
With that settled, Haruka turned in to the street that led to the pier
parking lot. She quickly got out, locked the car, and opened the door
for Michiru. She was rewarded with a cold glare, and a reminder to make
this quick. Haruka nodded, and, together they went on to the pier, to
meet with `Haruka's Friend'.

When the glow dispersed, Setsuna quickly spun around and clocked
Carlyle square on the jaw.
"Do you have ANY idea how HORRIBLY you have SCREWED up? The time gate
is NOT a Travel Desk! Who knows how many ripples you have caused in the
Timestream!" she seethed
He rubbed the side of his jaw. When he found he could speak, as his jaw
was NOT broken, he looked at her, and asked "How many times have YOU
used they gate to go someplace?"
"I am the GUARDIAN of the Timestream"
"And, *I*(he emphasized) am YOUR KNIGHT! I have powers similar to your
own, plus others you have no IDEA about. Do NOT presume to JUDGE me,
Setsuna. Not until you have LIVED my life!" he said hotly. He regained
control of his temper, and flashed her a lop-sided grin. Mainly because
the one side of his jaw STILL smarted from the shot she gave him.
"You throw a Mean punch, Setsuna" he smiled at her.
She shook her head in disbelief. Did he take ANYTHING about this
situation seriously* , she thought to herself.
"Yes, as a matter of fact I do, Setsuna!" he said quietly
She winced inwardly. She had forgotten about their mind link. It was
his way of making sure that she was all right. Unfortunately, for her,
unless she concentrated, her thoughts would be relayed to him.
"If you are finished being angry about things, Setsuna, I would like
you to take a look at our surroundings" he said calmly.
She turned around to look, and, what she saw took her breath away. She
saw a palace. Not just any palace, but, the palace of the Moon Kingdom,
before Beryl destroyed it. She always marveled at the sense of peace
that filled her, whenever she looked at it. Nothing, not even Neo
Serenity's Crystal Palace, could compare with this magnificent
structure.
She turned around to look at Carlyle. He was no longer dressed in the
jeans, and T-shirt, but, instead, he wore an outfit similar to Neo
Endymions', save for the outfit was Black, instead of Lavender.
"What are we doing HERE?" she demanded
"Why, we are here for a Grand ball, my dear Setsuna. A very special
Grand ball." he said, almost chuckling
"What is so `SPECIAL' about this one?" Setsuna asked, with her one
eyebrow arched.
"Why, I should figure you knew it by heart. After all, It was the one
you MOST wanted to attend, but, couldn't because of your Duty!"
"What? Do you mean?" she left it hanging, as if she couldn't believe
that she was here. He couldn't have brought her to THAT place in time,
could he?
"Yes, Setsuna, I did! It's Queen Serenity's Coronation Ball!" he said
with a smile.

Michiru could not BELIEVE how this night had turned out. Haruka had
called her, and told her to wear something pretty, but, warm. She
figured that they would be going someplace special, just the two of
them. Perhaps, some, secret hideaway, or, a gourmet restaurant.
Unfortunately, that was NOT how the evening had progressed thus far.
First of all, Haruka showed up in coveralls and her face was covered in
grease and oil. Apparently, Haruka had forgotten, and gotten involved
with her car, again. Then, after, she waited until Haruka was changed,
she THEN believed that they would go on to the nice evening that she was
called about. WRONG, again! They had gone to some restaurant, which was
noisy, crowded, and, one for which she was most definitely overdressed.
She couldn't believe that Haruka was being this insensitive. She figured
that she must have something planned, but Haruka had ordered her food,
and ate as if this was the fine evening that had been hinted at. This
put her in an even worse mood. Why was she acting this way? This just
was not FAIR! She had taken the time to get dressed up, and even put on
her favorite perfume, the one Haruka liked so much. She had gone through
all of that for what? A meal at a local discount restaurant. Haruka
would DEFINETLY be spending the next week or more on the couch for this!
And now, to top the evening off, she was going with Haruka to pick up
some part for her RACECAR?!?! AT that moment, Haruka began saying
something to her.
"Michiru, did you hear me? Hello?" Haruka asked
"What is it?" Michriu asked, still mad with her.
"I said that he left me a note saying that he was on board, and to come
and get the part. Apparently he wants to talk about something else," she
said.
Michiru shook her head in disbelief. *Great! The icing on the cake* she
thought bitterly.
"So? Do you want to wait here, or come with me? We probably won't be
very long. It IS a nice boat, and you can listen to some soft music
while I find out what he wants!" Haruka said. Michiru just glared at
her.
"Please, Michiru?" she asked. "It'll be quick, I promise. Then,
straight home! I swear!" she added.
"Fine, let's just go!" Michiru relented angrily.
Haruka smiled to herself. *Great. Now for the final step. * she thought
as she helped Michiru in to a nearby skiff that was set aside for
traveling to and from the boat. They soon sped off. Normally, traveling
at night would be dangerous, but, fortunately, the harbor was well lit,
and the boat was not far offshore, and, there was also a full moon this
night. Later, as they pulled up alongside the boat, Michiru noticed
something.
"Haruka, the boat is dark. Could this person have gone to bed?" she
asked. "Maybe we should go, and you can get in touch with your friend
tomorrow!" she suggested.
Haruka shook her head. "Can't. He's only in town tonight, and I NEED
that part." she said, as she finished securing the skiff to the side of
the boat. She dropped the anchor, and climbed the small ladder that led
to the deck of the boat. Michriu soon followed.
When they reached the top, Michiru looked around and took a deep
breath, and slowly let it out. She was still mad at Haruka, but
something about the sea always had a calming effect on her. The boat
itself was very nice, and Michiru could only imagine who truly spacious
it was. She was curious to see what the rest of the boat looked like,
when Haruka interrupted her reverie.
"Michiru, stay here, and I'll go wake him. I'm sure you're anxious to
get home," Haruka said. Michiru frowned, as the failed evening came
rushing back in an instant. "Fine. Just be quick," she said.
Haruka smiled at her, and said she would be right back. Michiru's
thoughts once again drifted, a she let the calming effect of the sea
take her again. She really shouldn't be TOO mad at Haruka. Granted, this
had been one of the worst evenings she had ever had, but Haruka wasn't
trying to be cruel to her. She just got distracted by various things, as
sometimes happened, but, she knew that Haruka would try and make up for
this disaster. *Still, * she mused, *She DID deserve some time on the
couch for this one. A week should be enough* she figured. Suddenly, her
thoughts were interrupted by a shout.
"MICHIRU, Get in here, FAST!" Haruka cried out.
Quickly, with Transformation wand in hand, she sped to where she heard
Haruka calling her. As she burst in to what she figured was some sort of
dining room, the sight before her eyes was unbelievable.
Haruka stood before a table, dressed in one of her finer suit. The
table was set up with a fancy china ensemble, and, a fair sized dinner
candle, which was slowly burning. On the plates was her favorite meal,
complimented with a glass of champagne. She saw that the bottle was
chilling in an ice bucket on the table. She looked at the bottle, and
her eyes nearly popped out of their sockets, as she realized how OLD
that the bottle was. Beside her plate, was a small box. Haruka smiled
as Michiru took it all in. Finally, Michiru said "I...I don't
understand? What...?" she began as Haruka suddenly filled in the gaps.
"...Is this all about?" she asked. Michiru nodded. She continued" THIS,
is for you! I know that sometimes I don't pay enough attention to you.
Sometimes, I HAVE taken you for granted. I just wanted to show you how
much you really mean to me!" she said. She then walked over, and held
out a chair for Michiru. As she sat down, Michiru inquired about the
box.
	"Open it" Haruka, said.
Ash she opened the box, she saw it was a small brooch. It was a small
Jade heart, embedded in a gold outline. As she turned it over in her
hands, she noticed some engraving on the back. It read "To Michiru: My
love of a lifetime!"
As Michiru finished looking at the brooch, Haruka tucked her in, and
sat down at her place at the table. She looked at Michiru.
	"It's True you know!"
	"What is?"
Haruka smiled at her. "You ARE my love of a lifetime!"
Michriu blushed, and smiled at her. "You are mine as well, My love!"
She said, and then remembered the evening up to this point, and
something dawned on her.
"This evening, has all been a set up, hasn't it?" she asked, a bit of
her temper returning.
"I'm Sorry, My love. I didn't mean to hurt you, but, I HAD to make this
special. I couldn't bring you here any sooner as I spent most of the
afternoon trying to get things prepared. In fact, I just finished
signing the papers this afternoon, just before I called you." she said.
"If that's true, then who was that on the phone?" she asked
"It was Lita. Somehow, she found out about what I was planning, and she
AND Ken insisted on helping out! Lita's contribution was this fine meal,
and, his was helping me get this boat fixed. That's why I came home with
grease on my face. I was getting this place ship-shape," she said with a
smile.
	"You mean?"
"Yes, Love. We OWN this boat. I saved up some money after my last race,
and this is the result. I hope you like it!" she said, and raised her
glass. Michiru did the same.
"A toast. To the love of a lifetime. Thank you for being mine" Haruka
said. Michriu just shook her head, and smiled. "No. Thank you for being
MINE!" she said, as they clinked their glasses.
******************
Setsuna was still in disbelief as to her surroundings. When the
Princess's mother, queen serenity, was honored at her coronation ball,
Setsuna was unable to attend, as by that time, she had learned that this
was one of the key moments that she could NOT leave the gate unattended,
as the chance of someone entering THAT particular moment was too great
to abandon her post, and so, just as she would for many special
occasions afterwards, she was unable to attend. Now, though the
intervention of her Knight protector, Carlyle, she was experiencing the
sights, sounds, and smells of one of many missed opportunities. Why was
he doing this? Surely he knew that the risk of this was great for both
of them. The slightest misstep could alter history tragically. Yet, he
seemed so at ease, laughing and joking with many of the nobles from the
different worlds of the millenium. She decided right then and there that
Carlyle would explain his actions, and they would leave immediately.
She walked up to the little group that he was conversing in at the
moment, and grabbing Carlyle's arm, she excused herself. When she felt
they were far enough away, she whirled on him, began her lecture.
"Do you have any idea how BAD it is for us to be here? WE could alter
things drastically, you know!' she said. He looked at her and flashed
that insufferable grin at her, and asked
"Something wrong, dear? Aren't you enjoying yourself?"
Her temper rose SEVERAL degrees, as she said "Don't you understand?
just by BEING here, we could have changed history!" she seethed. He
looked at her, and, again began to laugh.
She clocked him again, and stormed outside. After, once again, making
sure, his jaw wasn't broken, he got up, and chased after her. He found
her outside, in the gardens. She was studying a particular tree.
"Setsuna..." he began, but the words died in his throat, as when she
spun around, he saw tears in her eyes.
"YOU JUST DON'T GET IT!" she said, her voice raw. I *WAS* NOT here.
Therefore, I can't be her. So, by you bringing me here, you have caused
untold damage!" she began to silently weep.
He walked up to her, and placed a hand on her shoulder. She quickly
shrugged it off. He took a deep breath, and spun her around to face him.
"Setsuna, do you REALLY think I would do something that would *HURT*
you OR the timestream? I thought you knew me better than that! You know
that belt you are wearing? It's a small device created by Lady Mercury,
and myself. To put it simply, it keeps us here; yet, it also keeps us
from affecting anything. We can interact, eat, drink, dance, whatever,
and, when we leave, it will be as though we were NEVER here! I *KNEW*
how much you wanted to be here, to witness her coronation, to see the
gardens again, to embrace the joy that the Moon Place brought you. Yet,
I also knew, that you would be afraid of ripples, so, I asked Lady
Mercury for assistance, and, the gold belt you are wearing is the
device. So, please, Setsuna, Enjoy yourself. This is all for you!" he
said.
She looked in his eyes for what was really the first time, and she
could see it all. He WAS concerned for her, and he had done this for
HER! No one had EVER gone out of his or her way just for HER sake.
Certainly, the scouts helped each other when it was necessary, but when
had anyone done anything just for HER? He smiled at her, and handed her
his handkerchief. "Come on! Dry your eyes, Setsuna. Let's enjoy the
festivities. I'll bet the food is magnificent, and the music really
sounds nice. Just right for dancing" he encouraged her.
She smiled at him, and then frowned again "What about YOU? What is
keeping YOU from affecting the timestream?" she asked, a note of concern
in her voice.
He fingered a necklace that he was wearing. "Right here. THIS is the
prototype. YOU are wearing the finished model. Don't worry about it.
It's all under control. Now, let's go enjoy this evening!' he indicated
the ballroom. She looked at him, and smiled.
"Okay. I'll be along in a minute. "She said.
"Don't take too long, or you'll miss the meal" he called back to her,
and she laughed at that.
As she stood in the shadow of the tree, she reflected upon all that had
happened to her. She DID hate missing Serenity's coronation, and, here
was Carlyle, a man she somewhat despised because of his attitude, and
yet, here he was, practically bending over backwards for HER! She still
couldn't believe it. WHY? That is what confused her. She couldn't
understand why he was doing this, when he KNEW how she was bound to
react to certain things, and yet, he still persisted. Did he get some
deranged enjoyment out of humiliating here? NO, he has had ample
opportunity to do such, and he hasn't done so. He bought this dress, he
made this device, and he sent her flowers, candies, but, why?
*Could it be he CARES for me? * She thought to herself. If so, did she
feel the same in return? She didn't know, but she knew that No one had
ever gotten under her skin, like he did. Perhaps...She let that thought
drop, as she walked inside.
As the evening progressed, she found herself more and more enjoying the
evening. They had a fabulous meal, prepared by Elder Jupiter herself.
She smiled as she thought that some things never change. Carlyle had
been a constant at her side. Very attentive, and lively. She found
herself drawn in by his zest for the evening, and, even caused a few
heads to turn as well. Finally, the moment that everyone waited for had
arrived.
As she walked in the room, her newly wed husband, Galen,
announced her presence. He then walked her up to the throne, and sat her
down, and bowed to her, before stepping to the side. Her mother, the
current queen walked in to the throne room, wearing the silver crown of
the millenium. She announced, in a clear voice, that, as is the
procedure, she removed herself from the throne, and placed the crown on
Serenity's head, proclaiming her, the new queen of the Moon Kingdom.
A round of cheers broke out, with Setsuna's being the loudest, as she
watched one of her only friends live her dream, and became queen of the
Kingdom.
Later, after the pledges of loyalty and service were given, Setsuna
made her way to the throne and bowed before the new queen.
Serenity rose from her throne, and embraced her old friend. "I'm so
glad that you made it. I thought that you said that you wouldn't be able
to come because, of your duty", she said.
Setsuna looked around, and saw Carlyle standing there, smiling at her.
She turned around and said, "Well, I wouldn't want to miss one of my
Best friend's dream come true!"
Serenity smiled, and looked over her shoulder at Carlyle."Oooh, he's
cute. So, when is the Day" she said with a glint in her eye.
Setsuna was shocked by the question."Wh-what d you mean?" she said
nervously.
Serenity, seeing the confusion, went on ahead"Come on! You can tell
your best friend! When are you two getting married?" she said
Setsuna felt her cheeks redden, and, it took a moment or so before she
finally stammered out"W- we're not getting married"
"OH? I'd be careful! A cute guy like that might not be single forever"
Serenity gently teased.
Sestuna laughed good naturedly, and went to rejoin Carlyle. As she did,
it was announced that it was time for the final dance of the evening.
Carlyle held out his hand, and asked in his best imperious tone "Lady
Setsuna, Might I have the pleasure of this last dance with you?"
She smiled to herself. "Very well, my Lord Carlyle. Since you have been
so gracious an escort, and allowing me this evening, I shall honor your
request." she said and stepped into his arms. As the band started
playing, she was enjoying the feel of the dance. It had been a long time
since she had been dancing, or, even having an evening where SHE was the
center of someone's attention. Not Sailor Pluto, or, Setsuna the fashion
designer, just Setsuna, the woman.
Even though, her date was a bit egotistical, she realized that there
was no one else she would rather be spending the time with, at all. Yes,
she and the scouts were friends, but all of them, had someone that they
could be with and enjoy spending time with alone. Now, it seemed that
she had, at last, finally found someone who cared for her.
It was as they were going through an intricate maneuver, that he asked
her "Well, did you have a nice time?"
"Yes, Thank you. I had a very nice evening."
As they continued on, she recognized the song that the band was
playing, and she looked at Carlyle. "I know this song, it's..." but the
rest was cut off, as he placed a finger on her lips as they danced.
"I know", he said. "I arranged it with the band, while you were
chatting with Serenity. It's one of my favorites of the 20th, and, I
just seemed to fit the mood Plus, I know that you like it too, so, there
was a bit of additional incentive" he smiled at her, She continued
dancing, but said nothing.
He looked at her, and as the song reached its apex, he began to sing to
her, along with the band.

"Always just beyond my Touch
Though I needed you so much"
She then surprised him by joining in the song!
"After all, what else is living for?"
She leaned in, and kissed him, for the first time, as the band played
on. She had finally found her own Love of a lifetime. For once, he was
speechless.

(At that moment, six other couples across time and space seemed to join
in the melody)

After all the stops and Starts

	Author's notes:
HIYA. Okay, to better understand just who Carlyle is, read "Millennium
Knights" It's the story that Lady Jupiter and I are working on! I
encourage everyone to read it! C&C are welcome, but, not too many
flames, as I burn easily(HA HA HA!) Anyway, this was my FIRST solos
project, and I hope that anyone who reads this, likes the story! As I
said, I know very little about the outer scouts, except that which I
read about on line, so, if ANy of the outers are misrepresented, I
apologize! Special thanks go to my one and only Partner:
Lady Jupiter, to whom all my inspiration comes from!
(This story was, yet again, another challenge from her. It is a sort of
sequel to her story VALENTINES DAY! She said that she wasn't going to do
an Outers love story, SO, I wrote it!)
