As fun as this is, people, I have the feeling you're all missing the
purpose of SIs in general over a minor detail.

The point of a SI is this phrase: "If I was there, it wouldn't have
happened that way."

Yes, my, Bert's, and Gryphon/Megazone's intro all have a SI character
being accepted immediately into the fold, as it were. If you look at it,
though, it's nothing more than a convenient plot device to faciliate the
rest of the bedamned fic, which is a description of how BGC would have
happened differently if someone extra was there. HOW the SI got there is
not nearly as important as the fact that he IS there.

I enjoy SIs, I'll admit it. In some ways, they're my favorite type of
fanfiction. I enjoy writing them, I enjoy seeing others write them.
They're FUN.

I'm not going to re-write the intro to God's Toy and COMPLETELY change my
plot design. I can promise you this: It will NOT read like Hopelessly
Lost or Bubblegum Zone, especially in some key parts. (No, I'm not
telling.)
