Come to thing of it, why _haven't_ any women written 'real'
OtakuFics? Is it simply a matter of less megalomania in the average
female psych, fewer semi-available anime males to steal away, or just
luck?
You ever notice that the guys in question use the story to get a girlfriend?
Most were probably written when the authors in question
were a little lonely ^_-

Okay, I normally don't respond to threads, but I guess I have to break my
streak this time (please don't kill me tybalt!)
I gotta admit a weakness for self insertion fics--both reading and writing
them. However, in the fics I've written I've always made it quite clear
that I'm a married man. So not ALL of us SI writers use the story to steal
a girl. Though an addition might be fun.....(must banish evil hentai
thoughts *banging head on keyboard*) I've also seen a couple of others
where the writer/character didn't go after a girl, but that is the
exception.
Well, now is the time for a gratious plug:
Coming Soon: Ryouga's Alaskan Outdoor Adventure!
A self insertion fic involving Big Bore and The Wanderer!
Still a couple of weeks off, but nearing completion!
Anyone interested in a self insertion fic where the author is NOT after
one of the Tendo Girls, email me and I'll send you a copy of "Ranma Goes
Fishing" both the completed day one and the beta of day two where I try to
give Ranma girl advice!
Oh, and about the challenge bit. Anybody that knows a gal that likes anime
(either currently writing fanfiction or just into anime) encourage her to
write a self insert fic. Lets see what happens! Perhaps some of the lady
writers already subscribed will take a shot at it. This is a challenge in
a literary sense, not some kind of anti-anything challenge. I'm just
curious to see what will happen! (I'd encourage my wife to write as she
loves anime, especially Ranma, but she doesn't like to write about anything
but plants--never, never marry a woman with a botany degree!)
Later All!
Big Bore and the Nitro Express!
