He doesn't puncture the rock... he touches it in the right spot, and the
rock shatters.  Kind of like taking the keystone out of an arch.

Still, remember that he was able to puncture the rock multiple times into
the shape of Akane's name - so he *can* puncture it.  Seeing that
bones/flesh/muscle are a great deal softer than rock, he *should* be able
to make Ranma into Swiss cheese.  Ever heard of Iron Finger training? :)
