Okay, THIS I'm going to have to put a stop to.

I'm echoing this to the FFML for the simple reason that I want everyone to
know this, so it doesn't happen again.

People, the Revenge Wars continuity is NOT open for external fanfic at this
time. It is NOT public domain, nor will it likely be in the near future.

There is a difference between revengefics and the Revenge Wars. Revenge fics
are a general genre, a subdivision of self-insertion fics. The Revenge Wars
continuity is the property of the Revengers, the group of authors who invented
and write in this particular universe, and who are involved in the Revenge
Wars project.

Last time I checked, Cap'n Bungie was NOT among them.

I know slamming an author for writing a fanfic in our universe smacks of
hypocrisy, but right now I don't care. There are certain rules of etiquette to
observe when writin g in another authors universe. The first is to ASK him,
and get permission. The second is to give him credit for creating the
universe, and acknowledge that you are NOT the owner/inventor (THIS is the
omission that really annoys me). Cap'n Bungie has done NEITHER of these, and
for this I have to come down hard.

I know I seem like an ogre for posting this, but I have no choice. If the
revenge wars belonged to me alone, I might not react so violently. But the
Revenge Wars is the product of over forty separate authors and other
contributors (artwork, web pages, music, etc) and I CANNOT allow the franchise
to be diluted any further.

This is the second time an author has attempted to write in the Revenge Wars
continuity without permission. I must ask that it stop NOW, and any furthur
writing attempts be halted until express permission is granted from the
Revenge Wars group.
