I am old enough, and the eighties were a musical 
vacuum; aside from rap and the underground dance 
scene, the eighties were almost a total waste of 
time.  Trust me, I lived through it. ^_^

Those aren't _my_ words, I'm just repeating

Not counting anime soundtracks, of course. ^_^

Anime music has been a breath of fresh air for me.  
I've got 10 tapes of music I've dubbed from OAVs, 
and don't listen to much else any more.  (Aside 
from Shonen Knife, Cibo Matto and Piccicato Five, 
of course. O_- )
