Subject: [FFML] [spam-esque] TPOH, King of Nerima 2 speculation


Arthur Edwards e-mailed me about the King of Nerima
segment in 'The Pursuit of Happiness', outlining
a sort of 'what if the King of Nerima was a video game
made by NeoGeo' thing.

I found it kinda nifty.

I didn't quite agree with his lineups, and I was bored,
so I wrote up a little 'what if' of my own, assuming
there'll be a King of Nerima '99.

- The Heroic Trio:  Ranma, Ryouga, Mousse
They've been the top martial artists in Nerima for 
a solid year, and now...

  HAH!  I give this "team" even odds against the tea-sippers, and
that's about it.  They'd rip each other to shreds long before their
opponents could cross the ring...

*grin*  But we're talking about the post "The Price of Happiness" Nerima
gang, remember?  Ranma and Ryouga have this kinda macho "we're buddies,
but the only way we'll acknowledge it is by beating the crap out of each
other" friendship going.  Kinda the same as how it used to be, except
Ryouga is really that pissed at Ranma anymore.  Besides, who can be
pissed and depressed when they've got an (unofficial) girlfriend like
Ukyou-sama?  *Ukyou........*   ^_*

- The REAL Heroic Trio: Akane, Ukyou, Shampoo
Miffed at the egomaniacs the men have become,
the ladies set out to prove they're not the
only ones who can go out and beat down the town.

  They'll lose against the guys, until one of the male HT makes the
inevitable dumb remark, at which point the three ladies'll make
sushi out of 'em

BWAHAHAHAHAAAAA....  Anyway, Ranma wouldn't wanna hit Akane, Ryouga
wouldn't wanna hurt Ukyou, and Mousse would just get his ass kicked by
Shampoo.  Hmm, but Ranma could teach the guys the Anything Goes Pressure
Hold Knockdown technique (property of RPM) that uses pressure points to
defeat an opponent.  *rofl*  Just reread TPOH, King of Nermina if you
don't remember.  I wonder how well the gals woud take it...  Besides,
even if they didn't fight against the guys, they'd do pretty well against
a few of the teams thru various unwanted handicaps.  

Team Muhoshin: Kyoko wouldn't THINK of hurting her neesan Akane, and
would probably try to beat up Ryo for even trying.  (Kill that damn
bastard....  Hehe).  Ryoko wouldn't mind having a go at Ukyou, though....

The Masters: *snicker*  Do you even doubt it?  Happosai would just run
around trying to glomp the three of them, Soun would start bawling at the
thought of hurting his daughter, and of course, there's Ukyou and Shampoo
vs. Genma.  *snicker*  HAHAHAHAHAAAAAA.  I wonder how fast Genma would
run away?

The Lucky Gods: Hmm, Shampoo v. Monron, Ukyou v. Bishamonten, and Kirin
v. Akane.  Interesting....

Team Nemesis: Crepe Joe v. Ukyou, Copycat Ken v. Akane, and Shampoo v.
Dojo Destroyer.  True, they'd get their butt kicked, but it would be
interesting to watch.  Besides, I don't think Copycat Ken can do Akane's
hammerspace mallet trick.  

Team Kuno: *snicker*  Akane KO's Kunou in under 5 seconds, then Kodachi
"accidentally" knocks out Sasuke when she uses him to block an attack by
the three girls and is subsequently defeated when she realizes her "team
members" are all gone.

The Unorthodox Team: I wonder if Konatsu would actually hurt his
Ukyou-sama.  And then there's the rematch between Akane and Tanya.  Even
though she's nowhere near Ranma's ability to analyze and learn from a
battle, she ain't too much of a slouch herself.  Besides, who knows how
much she'll learn from Ranma in a year.

The Amazon Force: I don't really see how Cologne could loose against any
of these groups since I've been inundated with fics showing how powerful
and skilled she is.  

  All in all, I like these team-ups.  I just wish there was one with
Nodoka Saotome on it--the battle betweeen that team and Ranma's would
be interesting, to say the least:
    Ranma (dodging):  C'mon!  I don't fight girls, let alone my mom!
    Nodoka (swinging katana):  Ranma!  quit running and show me how
                             manly you've become!

*grin*  So who'd Nodoka-sama team up with?  Hmm...  Maybe instead of
Happosai, Genma, and Soun, it'd be Nodoka, Genma, and Soun.  If the men
don't fight... *SWISH* out comes the katana.
