virtually/absolutely no response to something that he/she writes.

There is hope for the neglected authors.

Go to my page and look up the Comment Patrol and look for the person who's
guaranteed to review any story on the series you're writing on.

For me, it's Project A-ko.  Actually if you look a little further you'll
find that I'm running a Project A-ko fanfic contest for the second year
running with an actual physical prize.  (And it was damn difficult to
track down too, because it's out of print!)

Unfortunately, if you want to win, you'll have to write about the birthday
of the "angel who cries like runaway trains".
