Okay, I think it's about time to release some information about this
story in progress.
If you have noticed that I haven't been posting much of anything to
the FFML, it is because of this 'long-term' project I am now working on
with most of my free time. The title at the moment is only tentative
(it appears on Page 1, Chapter 1 and that's it) but it has a good
chance of making itself to the end.
Basically, as you may have heard from earlier posts, I've decided to
work on The Heroes We Love timeline/storyline for a while and push the
Full Circle universe off to the side. The THWL world being a much
simpler place at the moment and easier to bend to my will, it's a good
place to start. So, I'll start at the beginning.
Hereditist, generally, is the story of the final years of the Silver
Millennium and the destruction of the Moon Kingdom by Queen Beryl and
Metallia. But, to be just a bit more precise, it's the story of
Richard Vedas' father and his role in Serenity's court.
While the chapters that refer to these times in The Heroes We Love
have yet to be released, when they are you will find a lot of vague
images concerning the final years of the Silver Millennium. This story
is an attempt to clear up these, and give a little insight as to the
Heritage that Richard carries with him.
It will be in the range of 42 chapters, which include three epilogues,
three interludes between parts, and a prologue. Each chapter has been
planned out so only the actual writing needs to be done now. I suspect
that perhaps two or three chapters will be completed per month, maybe
more come July. I won't be going haywire to release the chapters, so
you'll have to be patient if you like it.
Hereditist was modeled after the writing style, and maybe a few of the
elements as well, of Raymond E. Fiest, acclaimed author of the 'Riftwar
Saga', 'Serpentwar Saga', 'The Empire Trilogy', and creator of the
storyline of the still famous Betrayal At Krondor computer came
released by Sierra/Dynamix. He is an excellent Fantasy writer, and I
would recommend him to everyone.
This is the second of my 'Author Recognition' stories that have been
done in styles mimicking popular fiction writers. As Dark As Knight, a
Bubble Gum Crisis/Batman: The Animated Series crossover, was the first
and was modeled after Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens novel entitled
'Federation.' Again, I would encourage Star Trek fans and semi-fans
alike to read this book for it is a gem.
Back to the story. The first chapter and/or the Prologue should be
released by the end of the weekend but I've broken release promises
before so I dunno what will happen. Watch for it under the
'Hereditist' title until a new title or this title is confirmed.
BTW: Hereditist means someone who believes that person's entire life
from personality to destiny is determined by their genes.
Notable THWL Info:
Richard Wagner Vedas- His mother was Restina, Queen of the Vampires.
His father was Seether Vedas, a general in Queen Serenity's court in
the final days of the Moon Kingdom. Richard knows little of his
father, having died when he was still a boy, and after being forced to
kill his mother during the Vampire Wars, he is distraught at how his
father could ever have loved a woman like that. Richard worked with
Sailor Moon and the 'Scouts' in the 'Vampire Wars,' after which he
helped organize the Earth Defense League which was designed to be a
proactive organization to prepare the earth for the impending disaster
of 'The Great Ice.' Richard had a brief romance with Lita Kino (aka
Sailor Jupiter) during his time spend with the Sailor Scouts.
Archival Pod- A device created by Sailor Pluto under the command of the
dying breath of Queen Serenity. It was supposed to have stored all the
knowledge of the Silver Millennium for use by her daughter in the
future. Unfortunately, the knowledge to control it was not sent so the
Senshi have a rather difficult time getting anything useful from it.
The Planets During the Silver Millennium: All planets and moons were
inhabited during and preceding the Silver Millennium. Whatever magic
or force that allowed this miracle was destroyed when the Moon Kingdom
fell at the end of the Silver Millennium. Each planet at that time had
it's own culture, government, and indigenous people, which at times
caused great feuding. There existed two sets of shaky alliances
preceding the Silver Millennium: One between all the planets (which was
broken continuously) and one that bound the Inner Planets separately
from the Outer Planets (which eventually separated and caused 'The
Final Great War' between the planets). The Silver Millennium is a name
given to the thousand year period of peace that was promised by the
'Treaty Of Silver' at the end of the Final Great War. Of all the
planets, only Pluto has a restriction on it for comers and goers. Only
a few have been to Pluto and have seen what type of life there is on
Pluto.
Crystal Tokyo- While too complex to describe in a short paragraph,
Crystal Tokyo is the city that was constructed from the ashes after the
'Great Ice.' The Crystal Palace (which resides in the center of the
city) and a large stretch of land in the shape of a star surrounding it
are all buildings constructed of crystal and are in some way or another
connected to each other. Beyond that, is a larger area, which
eventually thins out at the boarders, of buildings reminiscent of the
late 2030 before the 'Great Ice.' Authoritative power wise, there is
Neo-Queen Serenity, then the Senshi, then advisors to the throne, then
the Royal Guard, then the normal Guard, and finally the people. There
are a few exception to this generality, such as Richard being a Royal
Guard, as well as an Advisor and an honorary Senshi, but it normally
holds true.
