Ranma & Myst & Riven Cross-over:
Prologue
"Ah, ha, thou Soatome hath met it's match!" shouted Kuno as he and Kodachi
rambled into the Tendo garden.
"What do ya got now?" smirked Ranma as he and Akane went into a defensive
stance.
"Nihao!" shouted Shampoo as she hurled her bicycle over the fence wall
like a she saw on the X games recently. "Ramen on the house!"
"Shampoo, my love!" shouted Mousse as he leaped over the roof of the Tendo.
Ryouga somehow wandered in on the back of Katsunishiki, with Akari sitting
next to him.
"Die, Saotome!" he said.
Another typical day, isn't it," smirked Nabiki.
"Oh, isn't it nice when friends come over to visit?" Kasumi replied.
Nabiki looked at her sister incredulously before she said, "Whatever."
"Yet another typical day, uh, Daisuke?" asked Hirosuke.
"Absolutely," his best friend replied, as they looked from the tree.
"Hey, Akane, I thought we were having a slumber party!" shouted Yuka as
she and Sayuri came in from school.
"I will, as soon as I knock Kodachi's block off!" shouted back Akane.
"Eg gads! The pictures move!"
Everyone stopped fighting, haggling, or talking and looked over at Kuno.
He turned his book to face everyone.
"You mean, you found a magical book?" said Dr. Tofu, who happened to be
working on Genma's back. It didn't work, because everytime he saw Kasumi,
Genma's back would get a little more twisted.
"I told you we shouldn't have bought this stupid thing from Gosunkugi!"
Kodachi said as she slapped her brother.
The picture looked like someone had a helicopter and filmed a fly by of an
island.
"The picture looks so real," said Nabiki. She touched it, suddenly the
group disappeared.
The book fell onto the ground. Genma looked around.
"Dr. Tofu? Kasumi? Ranma? Anyone?!"
Part 1---"Sons & Lovers...Daughters & Mothers"
"Oh, my!" shouted Kasumi as she landed onto a deck. She sat down next to
Akari and her pig, Katsunishiki. Everyone else groaned as the force of the
fall met the strength of the wooden deck.
Ranma looked around as he felt totally lost...sort of like Ryouga, who was
sitting right next to him. "This is weird." They were on a dock that was
next to a ship, a ship that was very much underwater.
"So, what's a ship like this doing in a place like here?" Akane said
outloud.
"I don't know," said Shampoo, "I'm not even sure how we got here anyway.
At least I don't remember."
"Do you realize," said Ranma, "that you've been speaking Japanese?"
"Actually, I thought you were just speaking Chinese," said Mousse. "This
place is rather weird. It even smells like a lot of magic is used here." The
group slightly shuddered at the thought.
"Gee," said Ukyou, sarcastically, "it looks like we're alone."
"Apparently so," quoth Kuno. "And thus, we must 'fend for ourselves."
"Wohohohohoho!" cheered on Kodachi. "That means I'll have Ranma here all
for myself!"
"Not so fast," growled Akane. "He's my inazuke!"
"Not here you're not!" replied Ukyou.
"Does Amazon law apply here?" whispered Shampoo to Mousse. Mousse simply
shook his head no.
"Quiet!!!!" shouted Dr. Tofu. Everyone stopped talking. "Ah, Kasumi!
Where's Betty-chan?" Everyone started face-faulting.
"So, Daisuke, will they ever stop fighting?" joked Hirosuke.
Daisuke replied, "Nah, I'm surprised that they wouldn't even get off the
dock."
"True," Yuka replied. "Especially since we have such a shortage of guys."
Sayuri nodded. "Almost, but not quite."
The four amused teens jumped when they heard somone coming down the steps.
Everyone stopped arguing as they turned around to see her. She looked a bit
younger than Soun, perhaps six or seven years younger. Her voice was,
however, unmistakable.
"Oh, hello. I haven't had company in a while. Would you like to...oh, my
Kasumi...is that you?"
Kasumi looked carefully at the woman before she broke down in tears.
"M-m-m-m-mother!" said Kasumi with a quiver. "Is it really you?"
"Yes, my child," Mrs. Tendo replied as tears began drip down her face.
"And Nabiki! My child, how have you grown...and my dear baby Akane! Oh, you
are such a cute girl! Wait until I tell Mrs. Kuno about this!"
"M-m-mama is here?" said Kodachi as she felt her heart moving up to her
throat. "Mama?"
"Ah, and you are?"
"Kodachi Kuno. My brother's here as well...," she barely whispered.
"Excuse me, Muyi, I thought I heard other people's voices," another
woman's voice said before she stopped and noticed Takewaki and Kodachi
looking back at them. She screamed and rushed over to hug her children. She
screamed as if she was in an opera, "My children! You have come at last to
free your mother from this prison that your father has dragged me in. My,
how you have grown!"
Nabiki glared at her mother supiciously. "Uh, mother, how did you get
here? We thought you died?"
"Who told you that?"
"Father did," replied Nabiki. "We were very young at the time."
"He did? But I didn't die. I just fell into a coma for a long while and
when I woke up I was here."
"But the fire!" shouted Akane. "I remember the fire that was in the
hospital!"
"There was a fire?" questioned Mrs. Tendo. "I must not have been there."
"The fire," said Kasumi quietly, "happened while you were in a coma. For
some reason, that night security was lacking at the hospital and arsonist
burned down the hospital. Many, many lives were lost, including yours, or so
we thought."
"Really?" said Mrs. Tendo. "So, how is my three daughters doing?"
"We're...fine!" cried Kasumi as she ran towards her long lost mother and
cried onto her shoulder. "I-I-I never thought I would see you ever again."
"So did I, mother!" cried Akane as she bear hugged her mother. Nabiki
walked over and looked at her carefully. Her cold stoic demeanor eventually
broke down and soon she joined in the joyous weeping and hugging. Daisuke
looked over and seeing a similar scene taking place with the Kunos.
"Well, let us go back up to the library and talk of very old times.
Perhaps we can conjure up a feast, for I'm sure that you're all are very
hungry and very tired during your flight," smiled Mrs. Tendo. "Suki, would
you lead the way?"
Mrs. Kuno nodded and she gracefully led up the way towards the library
where they were leaving. As they walked up the steps, some of the people
could not but gasp at some of the sights. A huge gear had fascinated Mousse
and Daisuke. The library and the semi-formable mountain both captivated the
Tendo girls and Ryouga, while Shampoo and Ranma wanted to climb up the tall
trees that guarded the island from the southeast winds.
"So, how long have you two been here?" asked Ukyou as they sat down on the
floor, where Mrs. Tendo was making traditional Japanese tea.
"We're not sure, ourselves, but it seems as if it hasn't been more than
three days," replied Mrs. Kuno. The children face-faulted. "How long have we
really been gone?"
"Ten years," bitterly replied Nabiki. "Ten years! Do you realize what your
disappearance has done to Father? He still breaks down and cry everytime
your name is mentioned, or just about anything. Sometimes, I think he
doesn't even know how to think!"
"Indeed, your father was always a bit of an emotional man," admitted Mrs.
Tendo. "But, I suppose even a man has to cry."
Ranma shook his head no, but no one noticed.
It was quiet for a long while as the tea ceremony was solemnly carried
out. Then, Ryouga decided it was time to speak.
"Well, I think we should find a way to get back home," he said.
"Well that's nice, but how are we going to do that? I mean, there really
isn't anyway we could do that?" replied Mrs. Tendo. "Besides, I think the
owner of this place will be back soon. He left even a note to his wife."
"You mean this?" Mousse said as he held up a note. He had picked it up
from the ground, next to the rotunda building.
"Yes! That one. I couldn't read it."
"But I can," replied Nabiki. "It's in English." She looked at the note and
finally made out the letter:
"'Catherine,'" Nabiki read, "'I've left you a message of utmost importance
in our fore-chamber beside the dock. Enter the number of marker switches on
this island into the imager to retrieve the message.' It's signed by 'Yours,
Atrus.'"
"Marker switches?" Hirosuke asked. "What are those?"
"I'm not sure, but I think it has to do something with those wooden-boxed
with the metal switches that litter this island. There are eight of them,"
said Mrs. Kuno.
"Well, I guess we should go and flip them on," sighed Ranma. "I mean,
we're gonna be stuck here for a while, and this Atrus guy isn't gonna be
back here for a while."
So, the group seperated for a bit and wandered around flipping the eight
switches on. Ranma and Ryouga quietly climbed up the mountain that was
directly behind the library.
"What's wrong, girl?" teased Ryouga. Ranma glared at him with a look of
seriousness.
"I have a feeling we're not gonna make it out of here. I just know it,"
said Ranma.
Ryouga looked at Ranma. "How do you know?"
Ranma sighed. "It's just the whole way we've gotten in here. And this
place. It's serene. Calm, quiet, quite nice, actually. I'm just certain some
kind of magic is involved, but I can't place my finger where it is coming
from."
There was a pregant pause before Ranma went on. "I wanna make a deal with
you, bacon-breath. You know how much we both love Akane. You know how much I
have a problem dealing with Ukyou, Shampoo, Kodachi, and anyone else that
happens to be a girl."
"Including yourself?" teased Ryouga.
"Yes, including myself. I've been thinkin'"
"Which is not good for you, Ranma."
Ranma glared at Ryouga again, before continuing. "and I think perhaps we
should reconcile our differences."
"Why should we?" automatically asked Ryouga.
"Listen, you doofus! There's no one else on this island. I have a feelin'
that this Atrus guy is in real trouble and probably owns this island. He
coulda been a magician or somethin' and you know how much problem we have
with magic."
"Couldn't agree with you more there, Ranma. So, what's the deal?"
"First, we'll talk to Akane privately about your curse, tell her that
you're P-chan. We'll let her fume for a while and then see which one of us
she would like to love. You can't hide in such a small place as this, y'know."
Ryouga looked at Ranma a bit as Ranma's face turned towards the ground
below. From here, the island looked brilliant as the sun was actually rising
upward and a warm breeze started to whip from the north. It seemed no bigger
than a couple Nermia city blocks. Ryouga sighed as he did a little thinking
of his own.
"And then what?" quietly asked Ryouga.
"If she loves you, then I'll decide between Ukyou and Shampoo. I'll
probably take Ukyou. If she loves me, than you'll have to decide between
Akari or Ukyou."
"And I would probably would take Akari," replied Ryouga. He sighed again.
"Is there anything else?"
"Listen, um, I don't want to fight you anymore than we have to. You and I
know our honor demands it...but I have a feeling that isn't gonna work
around here. There really isn't an enemy to fight against."
"If you don't count Kuno," snorted Ryouga. "And what 'bout Kodachi?"
"I don't know...perhaps her mother will bring back the sanity that was
lost," replied another voice as the two Martial Artists sees a shadow behind
them. "And what's this about Ryouga being my P-chan?"
The two boys bigsweated as they leaned back to see Akane glaring down at
them.
"Er, what are you doing here?" asked Ranma.
"Mother wanted me go someplace else, she had to talk to Nabiki and Kasumi
privately. I saw you two on the mountain and I thought you were racing each
other. But apparently, you've been planning something else, right?"
"Perhaps we should explain this quietly," replied Ryouga as the two boys
started to sweat profusely.

Meanwhile, Takewaki and Kodachi were walking from the huge clock with
their mother. "That clock's switch is very hard to get at," Mrs. Kuno
tacitly said.
"Indeed but nothing a few flips couldn't handle," replied Kodachi. She
then turned to her mother, admiring her noble and beautiful face, which
looked amazingly like her own. "You once told me that someday we would meet
together and I would learn the rest of your great arts. I did not expect you
to be alive, so I wonder perhaps that we should...continue?"
"Of course, my little Kotchi," replied Mrs. Kuno. "And Tatchi as well must
learn my arts. It will complement you and your samuri abilities. I assume
you still practice the bushido, correct?"
"I am the best kendo master there ever was in Nermia! I am the Blue
Thunder of Fuukinan!" Lightning and thunder quickly followed Takewaki's
remarks.
"Impressive, but is your skill as equally impressive?"
"I am afraid not," laughed Kodachi, "because he has been beaten by Tendo
Akane and my Ranma-sama!"
"Ranma-sama?"
"She loves that cursed Saotome who has enchanted the fair Akane and the
equally fair Pig-Tailed Goddess!" said Takewaki.
"Pig-Tailed Goddess?" asked Mrs. Kuno. "Son, do you not even know her name?"
"Alas, I do not, lo she pummles me into the ground before I can eloquently
quote thee," sighed Takewaki as he looked to the dark green grassy ground.
"I see. And you, Kodachi?"
"Ranma-sama has also beaten me, as well as Tatchi's Pig-Tailed Goddess,
Mother," replied Kodachi. "He has even beaten Father's attempts to cut his
pigtail off."
"Well, I truly doubt that this Ranma has magically possessed Akane. Is he
among us?"
"He is the boy with the long pig-tail braids, mother," Kodachi said. "And
he is truly magnifique! Oh, that reminds me, who's going to feed Mr. Turtle?"
"Kodachi, I'm sure your father could take care of a silly turtle," laughed
Mrs. Kuno, "even if he's as stupid as he was when he trapped me in here."
"I'm afraid not, for Kotchi's 'Mr. Turtle' is in fact an alligator,"
gruffly replied Takewaki. Mrs. Kuno looked at her daughter with a strange
look. "Here are pictures of my fair Akane, Pig-Tailed Goddess and that cur
Saotome!" He handed a folder full of pictures to his mother as she looked at
them carefully.
"This pig-tailed goddess looks a lot like your Ranma, Kotchi," mused Mrs.
Kuno. "Who gave you these pictures?"
Takewaki growled, "That would be the treacherous Nabiki, elder sister of the
fair Tendo Akane, Okaasan."
"Oh, yes, that reminds me about something else. Did your Father ever tell
you of our agreement with the Tendos?"
"What agreement?" the siblings simulateously said to their mother.
Takewaki, in particular, started to look really nervous.
"He never bothered to tell you? That's like him. Well, Suki and I had
agreed a long time ago that you, Tatchi, would be bethrothed to Nabiki."
"What?!"
******
"Mother! You can't be serious!" screamed Nabiki on another part of the
island, near the huge gears. "Why would you want to do something like this
to me?"
"I think you two would make a wonderful couple," said Dr. Tofu as held
Kasumi's hands.
"Imoutosan, it's not like you've been using Ranma and Akane's engagement
to benefit you," Kasumi pointed out.
"I hate when other people make good points. Okay, he's rich, and I like
that in a marriage, but this...this is too much, Mother!" growled Nabiki.
"He's an idiot!"
"Come on Nibiki, it's for your own good," Mrs. Tendo replied. "Besides, we
already have a dowry provided."
"What?"
"Well, your father doesn't know about this, but I placed a $150,000 stock
portfolio underneath your bed at home, Nabiki. I hope Microsoft is still in
business."
"You mean we had over $200 million dollars at home and never knew about
it?!"
"Nabiki, that was for your part of the dowry! I didn't know that we'd be
here for ten years. It seemed only three days to us! And by the time we
might get back home, it could be the year 3001 for all we know!" scolded
Mrs. Tendo. "Now are you going to pout all day, young lady, or are you going
with me to finalize the deal with Mrs. Kuno?"
"Does Takewaki know?" Nabiki quietly asked her mother.
"Since your Father obviously didn't tell you, I suppose he doesn't know
either. Oh, dear!" gasped Mrs. Tendo as she saw Mrs. Kuno and Kodachi
carrying Takewaki.
"You told him?"
She nodded. "His father didn't tell him about this. He's taking it better
than I thought. And Nabiki?" They turned around to see Nabiki laying on the
ground, passed out.
"Hmm...Soun didn't tell her either. Apparently, however, he's got his own
idea and he got my youngest daughter engaged to Ranma, the boy with the
pig-tailed hair."
"Does he have a sister?" asked Mrs. Kuno as she held up pictures of Ranma
and the Pig-tailed Goddess.
"Oh, no! He was cursed. He and his father fell into a magical spring in
China," replied Kasumi. "Now everytime he gets splashed with water..."
******
"P-chan is actually Ryouga?!" screamed Akane as she saw Ryouga become
P-chan as he and Ranma jumped into the ocean water. P-chan nodded mournfuly,
realizing that the entivable was here.
"C-c-cc-an you g-g-g-get us o-o-out?" Ranma-chan said, shivering.
Akane pulled Ranma-chan and P-chan out of the water and onto the dock.
"You perverts!" screamed Akane. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?!"
"Because he made me promise on my honor as a martial artist, I had to keep
this a secret between us against you," replied Ranma-chan. "And he's been
usin' it to sleep with you ever since."
"You've been sleeping with me?!" screamed Akane. "P-chan no Baka!" She
threw P-chan towards the granite wall and suddenly a door opened up and
P-chan rolled his way downward. The two girls blinked as they followed down
the stairs to where a very dizzy P-chan was laying on the floor.
It was a huge cavern with a central pool with water in it.
"What the heck was that?" asked Daisuke as he and Hirosuke followed down
the stairs to where Ranma-chan and Akane.
"You know, Akane, I think we've just gotten ourselves into a much more
difficult problem," Ranma-chan said.
"For once, Ranma," Akane replied as the four of them ran out of the
chamber as quickly as they could. "I agree with you."
