possibly find it within themselves to let these threads ride off into

all of us.
No it wouldn't.
Now granted, I'm only spamming by replying and other such
nonsense, but such is the fate of those of us with OPINIONS (includes the
lot of you too ;) to state them =) As far as these threads go? I'm more
inclined to side with the Lurker, for this reason: If obscure threads like
the Dead Sea Scrolls can be rationalized for discussion BEYOND direct
application to a fanfic setting as being for fanfic-educational purposes,
then that sort of sets a precedent that as long as we can tell ourselves
"It's so we can write better and more appropriate fiction!" we can
rationalize talking about practically any kind of thread on the ML. And
while that comes out sounding harsher than it is, I still think it. It's
not that the threads aren't beneficial info, or couldn't help ing writing;
indeed, I agree with John in that they could. But I don't think the
threads we're on NOW on the ML are fulfilling that purpose, and are
therefore becoming spam. Just my opinion. =)
Having said this, though, I do have this to say: Emails have
subject lines so you can *delete* them beforehand if it's not something
you want to read. No one is forcing anyone to read the mails on this list
(as far as I know, if any of you are in hostage situations and need help,
attach a note to a small rodent and sent it to one of us or something) and
so if you don't want to...well, don't. :)
Considering I'm still in the newbie stage on the ML, this is
probably out of line, but I wanted to say it anyhow. Thanks, comments and
such are welcomed in private or public replies, but please note it's exam
week for me and flames are just more stress x.x
