"Another thing that's never been done, suppose Genma did take Ukyou with
him and Ranma, only when she grew up NEITHER one of them wanted to get
married after all.  In every story where Ukyou goes with Ranma at age 6,
the two grow up together and fall madly in love and either get married,
or one of them dies and the other becomes psychotic.  Suppose instead
they both grew up together and thought of each other as brother and
sister, with neither of them desiring to actually push their
relationship toward romance."


This has happened in 'Ruler of the Raging Main', one of my favourite
stories (hint hint, finish the next chapter please <g>). Ranma thinks of
her as a sister, Ukyou wants to marry him but has more or less given up
hope and sees him as a good friend.
