Actually, the one I remember was a straight Ranma 1/2 fic.  The author
tries to put himself in Ranma 1/2 Anime tapes through some recording
process which I have no clue as to how to perform, but leaves the machiene
running (or something like that) and Ranma and Akane get 'copied' to the
real world.

Still, I wanna read this!  Sounds fun.

The sardines weren't worth the trouble.  A few more shots, then 
Ryoga-san would overheat and explode.  Ducking around a corner, 
I managed to lose him as I entered the ramshackle residence of 
my Anime supplier.

One look at his face and I knew that I was betrayed.  "Tell me."
