Akane twisted her neck and was rewarded with a painful yet enjoyable
cracking. She really hated talking to Ranma. Everytime she tried, her neck
would stiffen from having to look at Ranma who was constantly on top of the
fence. For some unknown reason, Akane felt that she was being patronized
everytime she tried to have a conversation with him. She started to glare at
Ranma until she realized that he wasn't paying any attention to her. Fuming,
Akane ignored Ranma the rest of the way to school.

Their walk to school was quiet, each deep in thought. For once they had
left early and arrived at school on time. As usual, a crowd of overly
hormonal filled boys had gathered around the school gates, waiting for their
first glimpse of their 'vision of loveliness'.

"This is my fight, alright? So don't get involved," Akane ordered as she
tossed Ranma her book bag. Turning her attention back to the crowd of boys,
she started to put the male half of Furinkan High into the ground.

"I still don't know what they see in a kawaiikune tomboy like you!"

"Shut up!" Akane paused long enough to throw a hockey puck at Ranma before
returning to the task at hand.

After the last of her male assailant toppled to the ground in pain, Akane
turned around expecting Kunou to appear from behind the tree. An expression
of impatience could be seen on her face as she tapped her foot awaiting her
last so called suitor.

"Well!?" The last of her patience had run out.

"What? Oh, sorry." Kuno appeared from behind a copse of trees, looking
slightly emabarresed. He tossed a single rose to Akane, who caught it quite
easily. He coughed into his hand and said, "Ah the fair Tendou Akane, the
light of the morning dawn pales in comparison to thy brilliance. Truly, every
passing day, your already immeasurable splendor and charm increases. A fact
that still leaves one such as I, Tatewaki Kunou, in wonder having witnessed it
myself these past months, which feel like eons whenever I am not in your
divine presence. Oh how cruel the fates are to have you in thralldom to this
crass bore Or perhaps they provide a test of my love for thee, oh most fair
Akane. Not only is it a test of my strength but also of my love to defeat
this foul sorcerer. Hark, the wyrding ways of the gods are not for mortals to
comprehend, even one such as I. Very well, let it not be said that the house
of Kunou has ever shirked the duties of a true samurai. Have at thee, evil
magician!" With that, Kunou attacked. Thunder split the air and lightning
flashed as he attacked.

Ranma was taken completely by surprise by the sudden attack, having
fallen asleep due to boredom. Reacting too late, Kunou was able to tag Ranma
a couple of times. Trying to ignore the pain in his side, Ranma started to
dodge. Before Ranma had a chance to attack back, Kunou fell onto the ground,
unconscious. Akane was standing over him with a mallet in her hand.

"C'mon, we're going to be late!" Akane started to run to class but
soon stopped having sensed someone was watching her. The sound of clapping
could soon be heard echoing around the courtyard.

"Very good. You seem to have some skills." The tone was filled with
sarcasm. A stranger could now be seen having stepped from behind the tree
though his/her head was still obscured by the shadows. "At first, I was just
going to ask nicely, but after seeing such an impressive display of problem
solving management, I've decided to just beat you and take what I want." The
figure stopped clapping, and got into an easy ready position that was just as
mocking as the clapping.

Akane, being the fiery tempered type, who doesn't like being mocked,
charged shadowy figure.

Easily sidestepping the attack and tapping her lightly on her head, "I
win," the figure said with laughter in the voice. Akane abruptly fell onto
her bottom, feeling a bit dizzy and weak.

"Akane!" yelled Ranma, worried about his fiance. He too charged at
the figure, who also sidestepped, though with less of a gap than with Akane.
The figure punched Ranma openhanded, and he flew across the courtyard. He
landed a bit stunned, but otherwise fine. Akane had by this time had
retreated from the figure, and was about to attack again when the figure
stepped fully out of the shadows. It was a girl in slacks and button up shirt,
but the truly surprising things was the bright red hair in a pigtail, and the
oh so familiar face. A face that looked so much like Ranma's.

       "O-Oniichan?" asked Ranma in amazement.

"Hello . . . Imouto," replied the mysterious redhead.

Oniichan? Imouto? Why is Ranma calling that girl 'Oniichan'? And why
is she calling Ranma 'Imouto'? Asked Akane, the ever observant, to herself.

Ranma fics

This was originally Double Trouble

Note: Oniichan loosely means 'Big brother'.
Imouto loosely means 'Little sister'.

Author's note: This is a weird little alternafic. I would say that this takes
place after the whole Kodachi rhythmic martial arts gymnastics competition,
but Ryouga has not shown up. Nor has Shampoo for that matter. As to how
Akane or 'Ranma' knew enough about martial arts rhythmic gymnastics to beat
Kodachi, well . . . Also, there were other martial arts competition for Ranma
that will not be gotten into now. Enjoy!
