rough draft, very rough draft, any suggestions

Well, you did say ANY suggestions...

 Part 2: Mad Machine

Little tribute to the Replicants, eh?

 clowntime is over
 time to take over
while others just talk and talk
somebody's watching where the others don't walk
 clowntime is over

 - Elvis Costello, "Clowntime is Over".

Now THAT is a quote worthy of Mike Loader.

And mike would like to know what that means :)

 [Gotham, November 2012]

Hanging by a grappling line, attached to a zepplin, flying
through downtown Gotham, minutes away from the bay.

He was too old for this.

*Ahem* Been re-reading "The Dark Knight Returns," now have we?

Aaaaaaaayep.

The Joker's dirigibles were all far out to sea now, where
their deadly cargo of toxin would affect nothing.

And now there was one last thing to do, one final act.

Stop the Joker. Once and for all.

 For Tim.

There's no Jason Todd in the animated series, so you're going with Tim, eh?

Once again, this is STRAIGHT from Dark Knight Returns.

Mmm-hm.

 -WHAM-

The Joker reeled back, his nose bloodied, and fell flat on
his back in the zepplin's tiny cabin. Batman quickly
 followed.

Change the zeppelin to a chopper, and you've got an almost exact replica of
the final page of "A Death in the Family"

Now that was coincidental...

She stared at the pier for a while, looking with a
contemplative expression, then steered the small craft back
to the dock at the other side of the bay. Sylia had
wondered how a normal tourist went about things, and figured
this was her chance to find out.

Besides, she was curious about the Batman.

The two shared a bond, she liked to think. Vigilantes, both
of them... hunted by the police as well as the criminals.

The Knight Sabers, as far as I can tell, have no arrest warrants
out, and the ADP has made no effort at all to track them down.

Officially, the Sabers are illegal, yeah? The cops really didn't go
after them, but they didn't support them openly either. It was the
higher-ups, I think, in govt, i.e. genom puppets, that didn't like'em.

Still, the sabers hardly get official support.

Similarily, Batman was RARELY opposed by the Gotham Police.

_Early_ years of Batman's career he was _very_ opposed by
the police.

 Hmmm...

She paused in thought for a moment. The Batman eventually
formed an informal alliance with the police; could the same
thing be happening now with the AD Police?

There was nothing 'eventual' about it. Batman began working with
James Gordon within a few months of his first appearence. And the
relationship was considerably beyond informal.

Far from official.

There was that irritating matter of the New OPEC Alliance
which was bound to be trouble later. They were gaining
momentum in the Antarctic war. Nothing too serious yet, but
something to keep an eye on.

Now this wouldn't be foreshadowing, now would it?

Good ol Ra's. Can't keep a good immortal eco-terrorist down, nuh-uh.

Havta lay down the groundwork somewhere. ^_^

//Yes sir. Genom Tower Chicago has found a chamber similar
to ours, except it has only an incomplete unit within.//

"Not surprising. Mason always did have a backup plan."

Genom Chicago was fried by Largo. The Tower as it existed during Mason's time
would be nonexistent in 2035, replaced by a brand-new facility.

Ayep, that would be.... ayep, yeah, that's a big mistake on
my part. Yup. X.x

MR. Freeze. It's MR. Freeze, not Doctor.

Strike twoooooo....

It was the company that bought Cybertron Labs, the research
corporation that funded Karl Rossum, godfather of boomer
 technology.

 Wayne Enterprises.

WayneTECH Enterprises. If this is the animated series, it's
Waynetech. It's only plain-old Wayne Enterprises in the comics.

Was WayneTech not a sub-branch of Wayne Enterprises in general?

 Darling Batsy was gone!

He's forgetting one of the primary rules of superhero death scenes:
no body, no death. Even if there IS a body, you can never be sure.

Truth be told... aheh... I'm not sure if he's dead yet. ^_^

Nice story you got going here. I personally cannot wait to see what
direction you run with it; a boomer-ized Joker and what he could do
is a VERY scary thought.

Didn't Largo have a funny little black box...?
