Creative, thoughtful fanfiction idea suggestions are very welcome on the
list; knee-jerk stupid ones like "What if Ranma were a potato?" or "Has
anyone ever done a Sailor Moon/Beetle Bailey crossover?" are not. Certain
people who've been posting excessive amounts of these will be hearing from
me if they continue. Putting labels such as [pointless] on these posts
doesn't impress me either. If you know that it's pointless, why the hell
are you posting it?

The fact that an idea's already been done shouldn't dissuade anyone from
trying to write a story based on it. But it DOES make it silly to suggest
it in an idea post. If you're going to send out an idea for eight hundred
subscribers to ponder, you ought to have a basic familiarity with what's
already been written. Otherwise check through the RAAC archive or ask
someone knowledgable.
