An odd fic by Nicky Townsend
Nichan16@AOL.com
Some notes: I've had this story laying around for quite a while. There
are sections when one of the character's explains some thing that happened
before this fic, but that only becuase that charactes is from some books
that not everyone has read, so I thought it might help eveyone understand
why he is where he is. Also I've made promises to people that i will write
a sequel...one day. Send C&C to the adress at the top of the page. Flames will
be deleted. In other words...if you don't like it don't tell me.

The Vampire Ranma
part 2
The next night couldnt come fast enough for Ranma. And yet somehow he
knew that he should savor these last moments of daylight If Lestat was
truthful, he might not ever see it again. The sunset was beautiful from the
roof. He watch the sun make it slow decent from its lofty peak, tinting the
sky lilac, and leaving pink and silver rings on the clouds, until it had all
but
disapeared. As promised, after the sun set, Lestat appeared a few feet behind
him. The sun had only just dipped below the horizon, and the sky was still
red, fading into deeper tones of purple So have you said your goodbyes to
the light, Ranma?
Ranma wasnt surprised that Lestat was standing behind him A crooked
smile twisted his mouth.Yeah, I guess you could say that. I have to give up
everything, dont I?
Lestat sighed For the most part. Most mortals will think your a monster.
That girl Akane might not care, she might even want to be with you forever.
Then again, she may go mad, and scream and scream and scream until her
voice doesnt work anymore. That is one reason some of us call the
making of a new vampire The Dark Trick. Because you wont know if
your suited to immortality until youve lived by yourself for a hundred years
or so. I wont lie to you. I know from past experience that lying to the new
ones is a bad idea. In the scope of some of us, my life of over two hundred
years, is the blink of an eye. The oldest of us is past six thousand. But they
dont talk much. The act of taking blood will upset you for along time, most
likely. My favorite of my fledglings couldnt take human life for almost
twenty years, but he was horribly depressed and full of guilt by nature. I
love him all the same though. I have seen many things that I shouldnt have,
things that no one who has a material body still should see. Until recently, I
was mute on the floor of my home in New Orleans. Because of something I
saw. However you get to watch the course of humanity develop. The oldest
of us lives only to keep record of her mortal familys progress threw the
multiple mellinia. Do you still want it, after all that Ive just said to
you?
Ranma was silent for a long while, thinking again on the consequences and
the benefits. The only unknown now was Akane. He was sure he could
handle the rest. Without turning Do you have any advice about Akane?
From her dreams last night, I can say that she loves you. My advice?
Disappear for two to three weeks then come back and talk to her and see
what she will do. If she wants to come with you, bring her, or I will do it if
you want. She might be stronger if I were to do it. If she wants to live her
life but wants to see you every once in a while, be content. At least she
didnt go crazy and doesnt think that youre a monster. At worst she could
go stark raving mad or become a religious fanatic. But your Akane reminds
me of someone I met once. Her name was Pandora. Shes two thousand
years old and shes the sanest of us Ive yet to meet.
Ranma nodded. Okay. Do it. But where? Ranma felt a blow hit his head
with surprising force. Darkness quickly swallowed him and then
unconsciousness.

Ranma awoke twenty minutes later. He found himself in the rugged
mountains of the Bayankala Range that surrounded... Jusenkeyo? How did
he get here? Then he saw Lestat standing there on the one of the bamboo
poles that juted out of all the springs. Dont fall in! Ranma screamed
Oh, like this you mean? Ranma watched in horror as Lestat PURPOSELY
fell into a spring. A few seconds later, he jumped back out onto the pole
again, still in his original form. See? No problem
Ranma stared at Lestat, wide eyed. He was still human. In form anyway.
Why are you teasing me like this?
Whos teasing?
Lestat leapt off the pole at Ranma, and pined him to the ground. Im not
teasing you, and sank his fangs into Ranmas neck and began to drain him .
Ranma thrashed for awhile, until he heard Lestats voice in his head.
*Relax* The voice said. *It will be less painful to remember if you did not
struggle, enjoy it. Cant you feel the euphoria?* Ranma felt like he was
floating, even as his limbs got colder and started to go numb, he began to
see things that he knew werent real .*Take comfort in your hallucinations.*
His body had no feeling what so ever. Feeling? Yes. Something was running
over his lips into his mouth. He swallowed. It was hot and rich and
deliciousHe licked it off of his lips and began to suck from the source.
The substance burned his stomach, like he remembered sake doing. The
burning in his stomach spread to the rest of his body, and slowly the feeling
began to return, not stopping at what his senses used to be, but much more
intense, his skin alive all over with the feeling of his silk clothing
rubbing,
and Lestats weight. LestatStop. I have no more blood for you! The
source was pulled away. The ecstasy faded. Ranma opened his eyes.
Look at the world, Ranma. Look with your new eyes.
As Ranma stared into the darkness, outlines became clearer, more defined
then he ever though it could be. Shapes, colors, and patterns that he didnt
know existed appeared. The wind rippling over the water of the springs
engrossed him. Then he noticed the texture of Lestats suit. Lestat pushed
him away when he tried to take the coat off for closer inspection. If you
like my suit that much, Ill by you one just like it. But you need to stop
that
for now. There is far more to your power then just your enhanced sight.
Lestat quite casually floated a few feet in the air, and did a little
somersault,
then stayed suspended in a position exactly like he was lying on a couch.
Ranma watched all of this, wide eyed.
How do you do that?
Because I want to. Simply wish that you can, and if Ive made you strong
enough, you will. Lestat willed himself forty feet higher in the air. Come
to me, if you can
Ranma found himself floating next to Lestat. Hey, this is really cool!
I guess you could say that. Now follow me. I have a few people that Id
like you to meet. When Lestat dissapeared above the clouds, Ranma
panicked. *If he can do it, I can.* With that, Ranma was once again next to
Lestat, but this time he was thousands of feet above the earth.
Lestat, where are we going?
To Paris, to see my friend David. I must tell you about him first They
were moving at a rather alarming pace,(at least to Ranma anyway) but he
could still make out what Lestat was saying to him even over the rush of the
wind.Vampiricly speaking, David is only a few years old. In human years,
he is past seventy, but his body looks only six or seven years older then
yours. You see, the body he is in now is not his real body, he aquired it by
accident, and it realy was all my fault. Some human asked to switch bodies
with me, and reason had left me, so I agreed. Then he wouldnt give it back!
I had to have my old human friend, who was the head of a psychic
orginization based in Amsterdam, help me get it back. This is how it went. I
got my body back, obviously, but David ended up in the young human body
I was barrowing and the body theif ended up in Davids real body. Then I
accidentaly killed Davids real body, so he was stuck in the beautiful young
body he has now. This was no problem to him of course, being used to this
sort of thing, after all it was his perfession! Then I decided to be mean and
make him a vampire, or at least hell tell you I was just being mean. Maybe I
was. What ever the case, its too late now! Lestat went into another one of
his hysterical laughing fits, which, Ranma decided that he was prone to. It
was realy strange to see someone rolling around on the floor, pounding on
it, an cluching their sides, when there was no floor to pound or roll around
on. Thank God that there were no planes flying by, half of the passengers
would have gone mad!
Sowhy are we gong to see him?
So he can yell at me for making another one!

Paris wasnt nearly as far as Ranma had originaly thought. It only took them
an hour to get there. As soon as they touched down in the suburbs, Lestat
insisted on finding better clothes for him because the ones that he was
wearing were now stained with blood.
After raiding the shopes of several of his aquentences, (and leaving a more
the nesecery ammout of money next to the register) Lestat had Ranma
dressed like any respectable vampire should be. Ranma steadfastly refused
to wear a suit, so he ended up in a collarless white silk shirt, a pair of
black
slacks, and loafers. They also located a pair of Okley E-wire sunglasses and
a pair of very thin black kid-skin gloves. Ranma was shocked when he
looked into a mirror in the shop. His eyes now looked like saphires. His
nails shone like little bits of glass. He understood now why Lestat wore
gloves. Lestat appreared behind him.
What do you think?
I think Akane is going to keel over and die when she sees mehey whatja
do that for?!?
Lestat held the tie that kept Ranmas hair back I will not let someone with
such lovely hair tie it back like that. It is an absolute disgrace! Lestat
pulled
a comb out of one of his numerous pockets and combed out his hair. Okay,
it looked better down now, then when he was human. Human? *Thats right!
Remember! Your not human anymore!*
Does you friend know that we are coming?
Of course not! He thinks that Im glued to the floor of my cathedral back in
New Orleans. Didnt you wonder why my skin was so dark? Its from trying
to commit suicide several years ago. But it was fading. David will tell you
that I was totaly autistic. I didnt move from my cathedral floor whether it
was night or day, and I layed under the rose window so that its light shined
on me. It took that daily pain to bring me back to myselfLestat trailed
off.
Kami, man, what happened to you?
I met the imbodiment of evil. The pseudo-Chistian Devil. I saw hell. I saw
heaven. I saw God. I saw everything
I dont know what to say.
What could you say? It happened. There was nothing you possibly could
have done, even if you did know me then. I brought an icon home on
accident. Jesus Christ, Himself, gave it to me. The Veil of Veronica. It was
taken from me and put on display. My gift from God was stolen. One of my
oldest friends, one of the first vampires I met, saw it . On fire with his
faith,
and then totaly convinced that he was evil, he exposed himself to the sun.
He was ashes in secondsThat was why I was mute for so long. I stated a
religious revival! Me of all people! A human girl that I knew was an
evangelist. She went into churches all over New York, proclaiming The
Dark Angel has sent me a sign! Look and see the face of Christ! She was
the one who took my gift. Lestat was silent for a long time. Well! Thats
enough out of me! Shall we go now? Ranma, stunned at Lestats abrupt
change of mood, followed without a word.
