[ranma][vampire chronicles]

An odd fic by Nicky Townsend
Nichan16@AOL.com

Some notes: I've had this story laying around for quite a while. There
are sections when one of the character's explains some thing that happened
before this fic, but that only becuase that charactes is from some books
that not everyone has read, so I thought it might help eveyone understand
why he is where he is. Also I've made promises to people that i will write
a sequel...one day. Send C&C to the adress at the top of the page. Flames will
be deleted. In other words...if you don't like it don't tell me.

Discalimer:
The vampires in this are copyrighted to Anne OBrian Rice. Ranma 1/2
belongs to Rumiko Takahashi and Viz Communications, Inc. In other
words... Its not mine.

			The Vampire Ranma
				part 1

Ranma had been at Ukyos longer then he wanted to. Akane was going to
give him hell in the morning. Unless she waited up for him, in which case he
would get hell in a few minutes. He would get hell from the rest of the house
in the morning.

Ranma was lost in his thoughts as he ran threw the dark streets of Nerima.
But as lost in thought as he was, he still realized when some of the shadows
he was seeing didnt have sources. Actually it was one shadow that darted
around too fast for anyone who didnt have his training to pick up. He
stopped and turned around. He scanned the street , and saw nothing. *There
is someone following you. Its not the normal garden variety, either* A chill
breeze wafted threw the street upsetting the leaves that had begun to fall
from their branches only a few weeks ago. Ranma leapt to the roof of a
nearby house and hoped that whatever was following him wouldnt be able
to do so up here. Ranma made one more glance behind him and began to run
on the roof tops, anxious now to get home.

Ranma didnt notice that the shadow was no longer on the ground, and was
not even bothering with soiling its shoes on the roof top. It read his
destination from his mind. Nothing short of a dramatic entrance would do.

Ranma sprinted the last couple yards of the roof top, home, hoping sincerely
that he had left what-ever-it-was in the dust

When he reached the Tendo-Ke, the air vibrated above the arch that went
over the gate to the front yard. From this section, a man simply appeared
where there had been nothing only a second ago. He quite gracefully floated
down in a sitting position to rest on the top of the arch. Pulling a nail file
out
of his front coat pocket he proceeded to file his nails down to the quick. He
held his hand out in front of him to examine the nail. Ranma watched the
nail grow back to its original length. In five seconds. With a sad
expression,
the man shook his head, sending his long hair every which way. It was then
that he seemed to notice Ranma from the first time, although the man had
know that he was there the whole time.

The man stood up on the arch. He was very tall, over six feet by several
inches. His hair was brilliant blonde and flowed over his shoulders in loose
waves. His suit was impeccable and very dark blue, although his tie was
more of a cravat then a tie, and it was an outrageous red silk. In spite of
the
fact that it was pitch black out side, as there was no moon that night, he was
wearing circular purple tinted sunglasses with gold rims. His hands were
covered by expensive looking black leather gloves. The night seemed to
shinning with his presence The man jumped off the high arch with surprising
ease, and landed lightly a few feet from where Ranma stood.

He took a few steps toward Ranma, who had instinctively fallen into
defensive stance at the sight of this man. He took notice of this with
amusement, and smiled enough that his teeth were revealed. *This guy has
fangs like Ryouga* though somehow, he knew this man was not born with
these fangs.

Your martial arts training will do you no good against me The man said in
a heavily French accented Japanese. He removed his sunglasses. His eyes
glowed in the darkness as brightly as polished amethysts would under light.
The contrast of this with his dark skin and his hair which appeared as a
shining mass of platinum, told Ranma one thing.

The man that stood before him wasnt human, and hadnt been for quite a
while. You are very observant for one of you age. Why havent you
panicked yet? You know what I am.

Ranma made a dismissive gesture with his hand, and started to walk past
this strange guy.Mister, I dont know anything about you, except that youre
not human, and ya sure arent from around here. Why donchya go back to
where ever you came from? I got enough problems without things like you,
whatever ya are, showing up on the Tendos doorstep in the middle of the
night. If ya wanna talk to me, come back in the morning, kay?

This sent the man into a fit of absolutely hysterical laughter complete with
knee slapping, wild gesturing and lots of eye wiping. Ranma was surprised
he didnt fall over and roll around clutching his sides he was laughing so
hard. Did ya hear that? Come back in the morning he says! the man
shouted at the stars.

The man turned back to Ranma, after he calmed down enough to speak
coherently. I, my dear boy, am Lestat, and I have been a vampire since
before the French Revolution in 1789. And that is why you and I must talk
now. Im going to give you the choiceInever had

Ranma had seen a lot of strange things. He, himself, was in fact one of those
things that can not be explained. But this guy had to be crazy. It was one
thing to turn into a girl when splashed with cold water, but a wholly
different thing to claim to feed on blood and live forever.

Lestat smiled I see your doubt. I can read it in your thoughts as easily as
if
youd spoken them aloud, Ranma. So how are youre fiancees? Youre quite
the ladies man, arent you? If you love Akane so much why not leave the
others?

Ranma had been in the process of walking into the house, when the
vampires words hit him and stopped him in his tracks. He spun around now
throughly scared You leave her out of this. Just tell me what you want and
leave!

What I want, dear Ranma? I have an answer to your prayers. I can rid you
of your curse. Of course youll never grow old and die, youll never be able
to have sex, you wont need to eat, and youll never see the sun again, but
you wont turn into a girl. You will however, be immortal, and very strong,
and faster then you could ever hope to be threw your training. Your hearing
and sight, in fact all of your senses will be better. Perhaps over time, like
me, you will be able to fly, move things simply because you want to, kill
with no more then a thought, and cause things to instantaneously combust.
Why dont you sleep on it and you and I will talk tomorrow after sunset.
TaTa!

And he was gone. Like he was never there. Ranma turned back to the door
and entered the black interior of the Tendo household. After entering the
room he shared with his father, he changed his clothes and crawled into his
futon. He laid there for a while. A long while. But sleep would not take him.
That offer was tempting. Immortality and strength. But most of all not
changing into a girl. But what would he lose? Ranma decided then what he
wanted.
