From: tk tan <tkonly@hotmail.com>
Can someone tell me the names of the sailor moon characters
and what type of scouts they are?
Or tell me a web page that can give me this info.
Thanks.

Hello, TK Tan,
Please note that your posting did not follow FFML FAQ
guidelines, so it may have irritated some people who
are swamped with email. I assume you are writing fanfic
and not in merchandising (your post did not say).
If you are planning to write in the Sailor Moon mileau,
please note that one of the very most important things to
know is the names and personalities of the "scouts" since
the Sailor Moon characters are so very well known.
A general website of links to many sites:
Anime Turnpike Sailor Moon Links
http://www.anipike.com/smoon.html
My suggestion is that if you do not even know the names of
the Sailor Moon characters (also known as the Sailor
Senshi), then please reconsider delaying writing of your
fanfic until you know the personalities of each of the
inner and outer Sailor Senshi. Please discuss this type
of basic info in usenet forums instead of here. Try:
news:rec.arts.anime.misc
news:alt.fan.sailor-moon
Sometimes, collecting stats and toying with them can
yield ideas for tangent subplots. An example of info to
collect for your "sailor scout" background info can be:
char: Sailor Saturn
name: Hotaru Tomoe (H.T. or Hottie to her friends)
bday: April 1
blood type: acid (if crossover fic)
hobby: reading
senshi position: outer (inner if it's hentai fic)
element: death & rebirth
fighting style: offensive
secret weapon: moon tiara, ha
special defense: silence wall
special attack: you give her a new one?
Each of the Sailor Senshi (please don't use 'scouts'
unless you are trying some sort of fanfic pun) has
distinct personalities, styles of behaviour, and moods.
A single website to answer many questions is:
Hitoshi Doi's SailorMoon Encyclopaedia
http://www.tcp.com/doi/smoon/smoon.html
If you are merchandising, the above is the best ref.
If you are importing umbrellas, I recommend Sailor
Mercury for your logo character.
For your convenience, a Sailor Moon search is at:
Paul Criswell's Sailor Info Search
http://paul.simplenet.com/smoon/search.hts
Now, as fanfics go, there are all kinds of ways to
present Sailor Moon fics. I have forgotten where the
Shrine To Oscar is (anyone know?) but here is one of
the best examples I know of where a "review" of a
hentai fanfic is in itself a story:
Artemis's Lover 6.7
neylonpc.engin.umich.edu/mst3k/textmistings/artemis_lover.M67.txt
For item descriptions and sailor sundry facts, like Sailor Moon
henshin rods, etcetera, take a look at:
Sailor Senshi Page
http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/3741/
There are links to Sailor Moon items and objects there, so
your fanfic can get a start at proper names for the equipment
used by the "sailor scouts". If any of my info is wrong, I
apologize as I am not really a sailor moon fan (just one of
the email C&C lurkers here on FFML).
If you are looking for ideas that have not been often
tried, here is one to get you started:
Suggestion: If there is a SET of related Sailor Moon
images that you like, why not try to write a short
story based upon those images? Then incorporate the
images into a basic html page. No need to learn html
since you can mail it to yourself via Eudora or some
other mail program in html format, or use a MS tool
and save it in html format.
It is interesting to see how the images can seed the
development of a html format story. There are a number
of interesting ecchi anime stories written this way.
Example: Here is a thematic collection of Sailor
Moon deathpics. It would be interesting to see a
"shockfic" gratuitous story featuring these images
(or not!). Just be sure to ask the webpage authors
for permission before you use their scanned images.

Good luck with your fanfic efforts! I hope that you might
try a crossover. An example of a non-sailormoon crossover
(to give you an idea without spoiling your image of what
a Sailor Moon crossover should be) is:
Ragnarok Agenda / Bubblegum Ragnarok
http://www.users.fl.net.au/~bcadwgan/ragnarok.htm
Genuinely well-written and a nice source of ideas on style
and presentation for characters you may have thought you knew
well already. Anyways, that page has a nice pic of Iczer2
holding a cig (she smokes?) which is probably a dangerous
weapon in her hands:
Iczer2: <sticks cig by accident into Oscar's Tennis>
Oscar: Gad! You're a Hottie!
Artemis: ...and I'm not? <pout>
