There was a box.
I was told not to go near the box.
She told me that if I touched the box, I would be shamed and damned.
I did not heed her words.
I was a fool.

I took the lid off the box.
In the box I found a doll.
The doll had red hair and wild eyes.
It spoke to me.
Most would not take a doll that speaks well at all.
I, though, a girl from an old, small town trenched deep in the lore
of the East, did not find this odd.
I gave the doll my name. It gave me its name, and asked if I would
like to play a game.
Had I known then what I know now, I would have torn off its head and
burned it.

She came in and caught me with the doll. She was not pleased.
She yelled at me. "Why do you not heed those who best you in years?"
she asked, filled with rage that I would scoff at one far more old
and wise than I.
The doll then moved, with more speed than I had seen in my life.
I blinked, and then the doll had a sharp knife.
She tried to stop the doll, but could not match its speed; next thing
I knew, she lay dead on the floor.
I screamed.

The doll ran wild in the streets. They all tried to stop it, but none
could.
It first killed he who held blind love for me for all our lives.
It then killed one of my foes, then one more.
It next killed the fool with the stick and the loud mouth.
I held hope in my heart, that he who I loved could stop this doll
from hell.
And yet, its spree of death went on. Soon, my last foe in the war of
love was dead.
But it did not stop there.
It killed all of her kin.
Then it killed my love's sire.
Soon, all that were left were me, my love, and the lost boy.
In tears, I told them of my act, how I set the doll free to kill.
The rage in their eyes haunts me to this day.
Not men to back down, they fought the foul doll.
The war raged on for six days and five nights.
On the sixth day, my love was slain by the doll.
With his one true friend and foe dead, as well as the girl whom he
loved,
The lost boy bid me his last, and used the one move which would slay
the cursed doll.
With this act, his life was void, and I was left to watch as bits of
him fell to the earth.
I fled. I should have spilled my own blood, but felt I should live,
to pay for my crimes.

To this day, I curse the fool that I was, when I freed that toy
called Charles.

So sue me...I couldn't help myself. Besides, at least it halfway
makes sense, and I don't think any words of more than one syllable
crept in there....^_^
I hope it's obvious who the narrator is...
