In a message dated 98-07-07 06:57:36 EDT, you write:

Outlines, notes

 Everyone does it differently.

 I'll have an idea - a faint one. Usually the first few paragraphs are
 easy, but
 you need to know where you're going.

 I can't do drafts on the computer, but I love to sit in bed with a pad and
 pen.

Oddly enough, I find a lot of my inspiration (and do my best plotting) while
in the shower. I think it's because I'm too easily distracted otherwise
(i.e., by the TV, the computer, my playstation, the telephone, an old
needlework project, that new paperback I just bought, etc.).

Being in the shower takes care of all those distractions -- there's basically
no way to read, fiddle with electronic devices, etc. There's just you and
your thoughts. The only problem with coming up with great ideas in the shower
is that there's no way to write them down..... ^_^

I also do a quite a bit of brainstorming when driving... which is probably not
the safest thing to do when driving in a large metropolitan area.   ^_^;
