Ranma/Rift War Saga : The Unknown Art Chapter one

* * * * *

      With a popping sound Ranma found himself in a wooded meadow.  Looking
around, *Where am I now and where did that black robe guy disappear to?* Ranma
thought.  Hearing a shout, Ranma turned to see a girl being chased by two very
ugly looking furry monsters headed his way.

      Carline was scared.  For the first time in her life, she was terified.
There were no soldiers around and her brothers were not here to protect her.
Looking ahead, she noticed a strange boy in front of her.  At first she
thought that this boy might be able to save her or at least help her escape
the two trolls that were chasing her but seeing that he had no weapons, her
hopes died.  Willing her mouth to work, "Run!"

      *Run away?* Ranma thought before smiling at the comment.  Ranma was
still a little irritated at not being able to find that black robed individual
who had attached him.  Seeing an opportunity to relieve some stress, Ranma
looked at the two approaching monsters, *They don't look so tough.*

      Running past the boy, Carline took enough time to look behind her and
gasped.  *Is that boy crazy?*  It looked like the strange boy was going to
fight the two monsters.  Any other thoughts were lost as the strange boy
engaged the two monsters.  Soon, Carline was staring in awe as the strange boy
started to skip and jump around the trolls' attacks.  *He's incredible.*
Hearing some sounds coming from her left, she turned her head towards the
sound, afraid that there were more trolls around, when she saw the other boy,
Pug, if she remembered correctly.

      Pug was looking at the strange boy fighting the two trolls and he gapped
in astonishment as well.  In the back of his mind, he started to feel a
tingling sensation.  Something he could not place.  Soon, Pug could feel it
throughout his body.  Looking more closely at Ranma, he could see what seems
like waves of energy flowing around the strange boy's body.  *What is he?* he
asked himself silently.

      Carline had never meet anyone like this before.  In front of her was a
very handsome young man who was, in her eyes, protecting her from these two
huge trolls.  Not even her brothers or their swordmaster were this good and he
didn't even have a weapon.  In that same time frame, she developed a crush for
her would be savior.  She stilled wondered how this person without a weapon
was going to kill these two trolls.

      Deciding that it was finally time to end this little duel, Ranma leaped
back and stood next to the girl he had meet earlier and the new boy that had
just appeared.  Powering up for a ki blast, Ranma let his battle aura appear.

      Seeing her savior leap back, Carline was worried that he had been hurt.
When she noticed his body being surrounded by a faint blue aura, she backed up
a few steps.  *Is he a magician as well?*  Having lived with Kulgan for all
her life, she was use to such things but was still a little startled at seeing
Ranma glow, not even Kulgan was able to do that.

      The tingling feeling Pug had felt earlier was now blazing throughout his
body.  Grabbing the princess, he dragged her a away from the glowing boy.  

      The two trolls, who were charging Ranma, suddenly stopped as they saw
Ranma glow.  Something inside their head told them to run away.  One troll
decided to listen to what his instincts were telling him while the other troll
was so hungry that he didn't care and wanted something to eat and so charged
Ranma.

      Seeing that one of those creatures were stupid enough to charge him,
Ranma concentrated and cupped his hands in front of him, aimed at the charging
troll.  Rays of light and energy could be seen dancing around Ranma's arms and
hand.  A few seconds later, Ranma was holding a ball of energy in his hands.
As he unleased the ki blast, Ranma yelled out, "M�ko Takabisha!"  Expecting to
knock the creature back with the blast, Ranma was surprised at the results and
turned a little white.  There was nothing left of the creature that he had
blasted, there wasn't even a single living plant life behind where the
creature use to be as well.  *What happened?  How come my ki blast was so
powerful?*  After a few more moments, *What have I done?  I just killed,*
Ranma realized, falling to his knees.

      Seeing what happened to his companion, the troll started to run away
faster.  

      Pug just stared at Ranma.  *Whoever this person is, he is very powerful.
He also saved both of us.*  Looking at the path of destruction, Pug stared at
Ranma with respect and a little fear.  He did not see the waves of energy
surrounding Ranma any longer.

      Carline just gasped at what she just witness.  She was sure Kulgan
couldn't do what this boy in front of her just did.  Seeing that the boy had
not moved, she slowly approached the strange boy, hoping that he was not hurt.
"Are you alright?" she asked.  Hearing no response, she leaned down and heard
a faint mubbling, "I killed.  I killed."  She was confused as to why this boy
who just saved them in a very impressive way was speaking thus until she
remembered how Arthur had acted after he had first killed someone as well but
what confused her was that with the level of skill this boy possessed, why he
had never killed before.  Arthur had first killed a thief that had pulled a
sword on him at the age of 15 and this boy seems to be around 18 or 19.  "It's
alright," she soothed, not once did she think of her rank.  It was the least
Carline could do after how he saved them.
