Well, "Missy Foxglove" (about a magical girl gone bad (and one of my
favorite reads... (if only there were more :( ) is not really based on 

any

specific series... rather a genre... so I guess, as long as it SOUNDS
anime (a-la "Starblade Battalion" (which is based on an 'anime game')
it would probably br fine...

My personal favorite, which I'm pretty sure is an original, is 'Magical 
Princess Sharra of the Winds'
The author says he bassed it off the following question.

'What if their was a magical girl who hated her job?'

"Two of the easiest words to start a fic with?  Hmm... that would have 
to be 'I wish...'"
