Well, my fic Kawaikune Team Fighters (only ep. 1 is out so you
probably haven't seen too much of it) is sort of that. New Story
Lines, Characters, Premise, etc. I'm hoping that it will turn out sort
of like a half rpg/half anime storyline. I guess the one major
difference with that is that the characters are anime fans who
occasionally dimension hop into the aniverse. For the most part it
will be a Anime Fans turned into Magical Girls going through an epic 6
part adventure to save the world from an evil RPG style godlike final
villain. I guess that was shameless plugging, but I'm going to
disguise it as an answer to your query.
On top of that I remember someone's story Mech Hunters or something
like that. I haven't read it in awhile but it seemed to be that style
though.
