While I shudder at the thought of ANYONE writing an Anita Blake fanfic,
if you want a couple more suggestions:

1. Himiko Se: as a spiritualist she has limited talents probably on a
par with what Anita PUBLICLY admits to having; she's the
narrator/nemesis in the original Vampire Princess OAV series, and has
probably switched to full-time vampire hunting after her experiences.

That's a good choice. The moods about right.

2. Anybody from the crew froom "Phantom Quest Corp." Hey, they already
do it professionally.

3. Anybody from Ghost Sweeper Mikami. I've seen an ep. It's wacky as
heck.

Perhaps too wacky. Of course since PQ central character is a Mikami
clone it should be one or the other.

4. Hino Rei. As an ordinary Shinto shrine maiden with reputed psychic
abilities **cough, cough,Sailormars** she might be one to get the real
info from such a training trip

Not to mention being the grand-daughter of a powerful Japanese
politician.

5. Momiji Fujimiya + her bodyguard Mamoru Kusanagi of the TAC (Blue
Seed). Hey, what better use for a government-sponsored monster-hunting
agency that's out of (giant) monsters to fight?

**Bonus!! Kusanagi Vs. Jean-Claude: Who can be more ecchi??**

6. Any of several people who shows up in Tokyo Babylon or eventually in
X. But you have to work the timeline right with them due to the high
bodycounts involved at the crossover point.

If only I could remember the name of the hero of Demon City Shinjuku...
At least he's a guy. Still, there's always Ronoken from PQC. Or for
that matter, the poor cop.

I seriously doubt that a lycanthrope would be allowed to compete against
unaltered humans. But the "Ranko Saotome" concept is intriguing if only
for the "You mean you're a were...girl element? Of course it adds
an interesting aspect to the curse if the Jyusenkyo cursed are legally
no longer any more human than any other kind of shapeshifter.

As I said, this was a loophole, closed right after. You have to figure
there were some of them right after the law was brought in. I figure there
was more then likely a court case involved, but there would be no need to
go into that.

The point about Ranko being a were, that's hilarious. And good point about
the Jusenkyo, the only thing going for them, is that they don't turn into
anything really dangerous, with the exception of Taro and Rouge. And in
this world, Those two would not have such an easy time of it.

Uh, have fun!
